Played a lot of wood ball back in the 2000s. Started with a tipman of course then upgraded to a nicer gun with the digital displays, long barrel, etc. I could hit a Gatorade bottle at 30 yards. I don’t recall the brand but it’s still around the house somewhere. It was a blast when life was simpler and time was abundant 😂
  2. An oversized kobalt needle nose and a regular sized one I picked up at Lowes
  3. The old Black Max was a good real but I’ve heard several folks say the new refresh model is lacking. A shame. The Black Max rod never impressed me. If you are willing to upgrade to rod in that $100-150 range you’ll never regret it. Lot of killer options in that price range from Falcon, Ark, ALX, Daiwa, and more.
  4. Snagged one. Been looking for a cheap reel to put on a small cranking rod I picked up recently.
  5. I went through several before settling on an Abu STX. It’s small enough to palm well but has enough line capacity and an incredibly strong drag stack
  6. My memory may be a little fuzzy but I’ve ordered 7 or so reels from Japan. Digitaka was by far the best experience. The price on their site is what is charged to my card. It’s my go to. Japan lure charged me $30 more than what their site said. When I asked PayPal they said it was my credit card company’s exchange rate. I think it was really JL had the wrong conversion on their site. It was a $550 order and they threw in a “free” jackhammer so it wasn’t the end of the world but worth noting. My first order was with Asian Portal. No complaints there but their website kind of sucks.
  7. Everyone should learn to throw a baitcaster on a $15 Walmart Shakespeare round reel from 1998. If you learn to cast it you can cast anything 😂 OP - don’t worry about the brakes. Reels differ. Users differ. If setting #9 works best for you then use it. After a while you may get comfortable enough to start adjusting it. Give it time.
  8. 7” curly tail 4/0 gamakatsu o’shaughnessy bend 1/8 oz tungsten 15lb Trilene 100% flourocarbon It just works. Always has and always will. Specifically to my lake it’s probably because the forage is small threadfin and bluegill. Fishing pressure is also high. And depth range is 0-10ft with main feeding activity in the 2-5ft range
  9. Maybe females aren’t as foolish to spend $100k to make $50k. 😂
  10. Trion was their flagship back in the 2000ish era. They made a good product back then. I still have a supreme laying around somewhere. Honestly speaking. For a professional to look over and fix the reel plus shipping you’d be better off going to Walmart and buying a cheap Abu or Lews for $40-50.
  11. For your style of fishing, what advantage does the 7’3 rod give you over a 7’ or 6’10 rod? What disadvantages? For a MH all purpose rod I don’t see any real advantage other than distance. There’s no need to throw spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, squarebills, worms, etc on anything over 7’. Just my simple opinion
  12. If you like Turkey give Russell’s 10 a try. It’s right around 45 bucks

It’s a 200k mile change on the 2023 and up models. Biggest issues I’ve seen with it is it eats def and has to regen often and needs 30 min of driving over 50 or so to complete regen. I nearly bought one a few weeks ago before deciding to hold off

As much as you tow across state lines the baby max may be the best option anyways

I change my own as well. Full synthetic Valvoline or Pennsoil and am rocking at 185k miles. My point on the carfax was people who change it themselves aren’t going to do it themselves today and then pay someone else to do it next time. If there’s 27k miles on the vehicle and the service records show an oil change at 12k miles and 26k miles you better believe that’s the only 2 times it was changed. I have several friends who only change it once a year no matter how many miles are driven. I wouldn’t buy a push mower from them much less a car

Well that just sucks. Maybe my assumption was wrong. The only person I personally know who had the repair said it was $7k I believe and the shop had the truck almost a month.
  17. Why is big game so shiny lol

I’m convinced the AFM lifter issue is due to maintenance neglect. Sure it’s probably a poor design and I’ve heard some parts supplied were not the greatest. But there’s way too many folks driving 10k miles plus between oil changes. With that design you need to keep the oil levels at the maximum and fresh full synthetic is best. Go watch project farm do oil reviews on YouTube where he tests wear. If you look at enough used vehicles online and examine the carfax reports it’s evident. I see trucks with 25k miles and only one or two reported oil changes. The dealers will try to tell you it’s because they took it to a 5 min type oil change place that doesn’t register on carfax but I don’t believe it.

Yea people that own them swear by them especially competitive cooking folks. They are made of aluminum so get very hot and supposedly control temps better than any other competitor and are really efficient. The 4 way air flow system makes sense and supposedly works well. However there’s no ash control system like a Weber has. Also don’t have to worry about rust or replacing. The only person I know that has one is still using a unit from the 70s.

Hear me out. I have used a Weber kettle my entire life and my current one is around 15 years old. There’s nothing “wrong” with it and I also have a small Weber gas grill and pellet smoker. However I have always wanted a PK grill and am trying to talk myself into it. Steaks are what I grill most and while I can make a darn good one on the Weber I know most all steak competition folks swear nothing beats a PK. I also would use it for smaller smokes and burgers, chicken, etc. Does anyone own a PK? Talk me into clicking buy button. I just need a small push 😂
  21. No experience but I don’t think Trey would settle on a subpar blank. One may be subjectively better or worse but I don’t doubt you’ll be satisfied. I personally wish the NFC blanks would have remained but their supply issue was a problem
  22. A JDM bantam is around 200
  23. I started using D Bombs years ago before they were on shelves but now days I tropically use a Pit Boss. I’ve just had more success on Berkley soft baits than other brands
  24. There’s more spots in smith than people in the whole state
  25. 7lbs at smith is like 20 anywhere else
