  1. I see now. It will work with any Solix over ethernet and can be connected directly to a Solix G2. I'm not even gonna try to figure out which Helix units it will work with. I have a two first gen Solix so guess I have no excuse not to upgrade my 360.
  2. Where are you seeing that is requires MEGA+?
  3. Looking the the video with Ott frame by frame they show some pretty nice images in water over 20ft deep. The deep water performance has been my biggest complaint with the current 360. I'm looking forward to seeing some real world video that is not produced by marketing people. It's very tempting.
  4. That's not the way I read it. It says "MEGA 360 Imaging is compatible with SOLIX® Series and HELIX® Series fish finders equipped with MEGA Imaging®."
  5. Have you considered staying with four batteries and finding a solution for charging them. I wonder if charging two batteries with one bank with a battery isolator would work. Would love to know if anyone on here has tried that approach.
  6. That’s a lot of stuff to run off one battery. You probably also have a network switch, a gps heading sensor for the 360, and a heading sensor for the Ultrex.
  7. Congratulations ?. It’s great that you’re able to retire while you’re young enough to make the most of it.
  8. If your referring to the Academy sale, I just order two spinning reels. All Shimano and it looks like all other reels are 25% off. Just find the reel on their website and it should say HOT DEAL next to it. Some reels don't show the sale price until you put it in your cart.

    Welcome to the forum.
  10. Hope you enjoy the new boat!
  11. I’m thinking it some kind of surface clutter that probably goes to the surface but is being filtered out at the top. I’ve personally never seen a thermocline that shallow but I’ve never seen 72 degree water in late June either.
  12. Welcome to the forum
  13. I charge my batteries and then disconnect the charger. I will top them off before going fishing. After two weeks, when topping them off, the trolling motor batteries will show a full charge in less than five minutes. The cranking battery might take 15 minutes due to power drain caused by electronics in the outboard.

  15. Welcome to the forum and I hope the future works out for you as you have planned it.
  16. @Mobasser I read your post and thought a lot about fishing with my grandfather as a boy. Those experiences are a VERY big part of who I am. Your grandson is very fortunate and I’m sure he will cherish his memories of fishing with you long after you’re gone.

  18. I would think you would be fine using 2 wires at 24 volts. Would I bet my trolling motor on it? no. If you have a manual with an internal wiring diagram, you might be able to tell if it’s a simple switch or some kind of circuit.

  20. I always untwist my line after spooling it on my spinning reels....always. Just run all the line out with nothing attached to the line and then reel it back in. It’s easiest to do it on the water but it can be done in the backyard.
  21. Welcome to the forum. There are a lot of good Humminbird how to videos on YouTube that you may find helpful.
  22. It’s the state record in both states. I’ve never really understood that. I think he caught it on the Kentucky side of the lake.
  23. Welcome to the forum. I don’t have any experience wading South of Nashville but used to do a lot of wading west of Nashville many years ago. Have you considered the Elk River? Maybe around Fayetteville. That’s not far from Huntsville. As far as baits, Rebel Wee Crawfish were always my favorite for creek smallmouth. Slider worms are also a good choice.
  24. Very interesting interview recorded earlier this year with David L Hayes, the man who caught the world record smallmouth out of Dale Hollow in 1955.
