I'm not a perfect angler but I just don't get it.
I’m intimidated by the level of experience in this thread. I’m only 56 so I don’t think I have anything I can contribute.

Half of the seasoned fishermen I talk to tell me that by far they catch more with artificial, the other half say nothing beats live bait. Which is true??
Many years ago, while Bill Dance was doing a crappie show using crappie jigs, he said "Most people use live minnows but I don't have a live minnow sponsor." If Joe's Bait Shop would start sponsoring major pros, maybe live bait would get a little more respect. ?

10 years later, a look back at what happened to TN football
It all comes down to recruiting. Fulmer was a top ten recruiter. What kills me is for the last few years we have consistently been in the top twenty in recruiting but we're playing more like 75th. As for UGA, Richt was a top notch person and coach but I think Kirby is as good as it gets. UGA is going to be consistently in the hunt for the national championship as long as he's around.

Hair Jigs
I like the Jenko Fishing "Big Wig" hair jig. It's a quality jig very similar to others on the market and a little cheaper at $8. Hair jigs catch fish but are easy to lose and cost a lot to replace. I'm gonna have to try @WRBs trick to make them weedless.

Question on brand choice
Rods and reels are tools. Some cost more than others. The difference between high end and low end is not as much as most people think. Kind of like hammers.

Advice for newbie on Ultrex and Humminbirds
Yes if you run a ethernet cable from one unit to the other it will work. It will actually be a little more complicated (and expensive) if you want to include the Ultrex I-Pilot link on the network. You will need the $270 ethernet switch and two ethernet cables to connect each fish finder to the switch. The Ultrex comes with an ethernet cable to connect it to the switch. This will allow you to share information between the two fish finders and control the trolling motor from either unit which very useful. You can mark a waypoint on the console unit. See it on the bow unit and tell the trolling motor to go to to it from either unit.

Humminbird Guys, Help me Upgrade to Mega+
You should call Humminbird and run everything by them. I have 2 Solix and 360. The old 360 connected via a Ethernet connection to a fish finder or to a switch. The new 360 mega connects to a fish finder through a transducer cable. The question I have not found the answer to is how do you connect a 360 mega and regular transducer to one fish finder? I assume it’s possible. Splitter maybe? Do you loose anything when you do this? I would want answers to these questions before buying anything.

Supreme Ultimate Bunk Boards
If they turned out to be too slick, I guess you could always put carpet over them.

A question for bait and tackle junkies
I'll give you just one example of how it happens. Bill Dance does a couple of shows on the new Strike King Grass Frog. Everybody's talking about the new Grass Frog. Every tackle store is out of them. Bass Pro Shops is out of them so I backorder 5. I go in a tackle store and I'm surprised that they have 3 Grass Frogs in stock so I buy them all. I go fishing for the first time with the new Grass Frog. The fish love it but I'm able to hook maybe one in ten. Everybody starts complaining about missing fish on the Grass Frog. Everybody stops using the Grass Frog. My order of 5 Grass Frogs finally arrives from Bass Pro Shops. That story is from 25 years ago. I still have 8 Grass Frogs somewhere in my basement, seven are still in the package.

Heading to Nashville for a few days
The Loveless Cafe is one of the better known authentic Southern restaurants in Nashville. It's a little ways out in the country but very good food. It's very busy so go at an odd time or expect to wait for a while. https://www.lovelesscafe.com/ Another out of the way place outside of Nashville is the very small community of Leaper's Fork. It's in the country in a very wealthy area so it's kind of a unique combination of country and upscale. A lot of the country music stars live there. The Country Boy restaurant is very good. Puckett's Grocery has live music and occasionally one of the local stars will make a surprise appearance. https://visitfranklin.com/blog/10-things-leipers-fork I think you mean the Grand Ole Opry. While Oprah is from Nashville, she is not associated with the Grand Ole Opry ? I think you mean the Andrew Jackson Estate known as The Hermitage. https://thehermitage.com/

Is there an app that allows you to download your gps/ depth finder results?
For the most part no. I don’t care to share where I’ve been. I might make an exception for navigational purposes like a dangerous shallow area that’s not on the map. But as far as finding fishing spots, I say it’s every man for himself.

Humminbird has a site where you can upload and share Autochart live charts. I’ve looked at it a few times. It doesn’t look like it’s used very much. Would I upload charts that I’ve made? NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS!

Utility Companies
I have a basement and a main valve that's easily to get to. I turn the water off every time we go out of town. I know I guy that had the plastic hose that goes to his refrigerator burst while he was on vacation. It caused $18,000 in damages.

Winterizing your boat
I always winterize my boat in late October. I removed the sun screen and UV gloves/gaiter and replace them with goggles, ear muffs, and winter gloves. ?
