Live Scooe
I’m not 100% sure but I think Scooe is a brand of snuff. ?

Tying a standalone drop shot rig
It does seem like a lot of work. In Tennessee we are limited to 3 hooks. I can’t imagine anyone having less than that but you should always check.

Post a photo a day!
You should call the police ?

Umm. What?
This took some effort and is innovative to say the least. I’m really surprised to see this from KastKing. Does this mean they do some of their own engineering or did their Chinese manufacturer approach them with the idea after everyone else turned them down?

Met up with and old buddy at ICAST today.
Wow! You’d look good in a cap like his. ?

Big Bite Baits Acquired by GSM Outdoors
I’ve recognized one bait that Slider Fishing sells on their website that is in the D&J catalog. I’m sure there are others. D&J probably make the classic Slider worms also but they have the Slider name on the lure so they obviously require custom molds.

Drones
Are you only wanting advice from someone that knows what they’re talking about? That should be against the rules. ?

Big Bite Baits Acquired by GSM Outdoors
Check out the catalog at D & J’s website. The minimum order is 1000 units for a given bait and color. If you’re stuck on one bait in one color you could just bypass the middle man. I ordered 1000 baits from Zoom about 20 years ago. I still have about 700. ? https://www.plasticlures.com

Changing flake color?
How many fish does your partner need to catch before you know?

Or they could just call Southern Plastics or China.

Big Bite Baits Acquired by GSM Outdoors
Southern Plastics claims they produce 70 to 80 percent of the plastic made in the US. They were started by Tom Mann and are now owned by Rather Outdoors which is another company trying to buy up our bass fishing heritage. We spend a lot of time here debating whether company A makes a better product than company B when in fact neither company makes anything and are both selling the same product made in the same factory under different brand names. These days it’s more about marketing and less about product innovation.

Changing flake color?
Here’s why I tend to be a color skeptic. Let’s consider my last outing. I caught 7 on a smoke color with mostly blue flake and I caught 2 on another very similar color with silver flake. Many would say that outing is proof that color matters. They were the same baits in different colors but I was using different weights. I made no effort to fish them an equal amount of time. So the difference could be attributed to the weight or the amount of time I fished each bait. It could also be attributed to random luck. 7 to 2 is not very statistically significant. I experiment a lot and it’s been my experience that when the fish are biting they hit everything. When the bite is difficult, you can’t get enough data (fish caught) to draw a reasonable conclusion about color. Everybody has a story about how in 1978 when they caught a fish on practically every cast but they would only hit one color. I’m skeptical of stories like this and I have a few of my own. I do think color matters but nowhere near as much as most people think. I have my confidence colors like everyone else. It’s also very hard to prove that my confidence in them is justified.

When do you guys toss out your jigs?
If it's still catching fish it's still good. If I’m getting bites but having trouble getting a good hook sets then I sharpen the hook. P.S. Don't tell the bait monkey I told you this.

Old PowerPro VS New
Are the old and new lines the original Power Pro Spectra braid and not Maxcuatro or Super8slick? What pound test are they?

Barbs
Not losing the fish is by far more important to me. It’s no big deal when a small fish gets off, saves me the time it would take to unhook them. Losing a big fish hurts bad. I’m still haunted by the memory of losing a monster smallmouth in the 1990s. I lost that fish because I was not paying attention to the details. You never know when the fish of a lifetime is going take your bait. I want a barb on my hook when that happens. I don’t care if I can still land 95% of the bass I hook with a barbless hook. I’m worried about one fish. If fishing barbless make you feel good then I hope you enjoy that feeling. I’m definitely not interested.

Broke my 4th rod today.
I would think high sticking would cause it to break closer to the tip not in the middle of the rod. I can’t say that I’ve ever tested that theory.

What's in your Mailbox?
We’ve been using it for a while. I also like that you can easily tell them to hold your mail on the same web site.

Broke my 4th rod today.
You might want to try setting it precisely with a scale. With a Dobyns 703 I would set it to 4 pounds or less depending on what line I was using. I appreciate an enthusiastic hook set but when you’re breaking rods it can get expensive. ?

Barbs
No, if I wanted to be appreciated by fish I would stop fishing.

How are you setting your drag?

Crime doesn't pay
What do you do when you realize you can’t even make it as a thief? ?

Setting up depth finder / GPS on my boat.
I would move the Hook 5 up front. I would buy a transducer for it that can be mounted on the trolling motor if necessary.

Non-BFS Reel For Light Line Techniques/Baits
I've never owned a bait casting reel that couldn't cast a 3/16 oz jig. This issue is how far will it cast it. In my limited experience with reels marketed as BFS, they cast heavier baits just fine. The issue is with how much line they hold and that depends on the diameter of the line you are using. There are lots of adjustment you can make to cast a specific lure better. Don't let marking labels define what you can and cannot do with a reel.

Have you tried calibrating the heading sensor?
