Like @gimruis I throw empties back in the cooler. I use a large zip lock bag for other trash, line and used plastics. I put a rock in the bag to keep it from blowing out.

If you have the $50 then buy it and see how you like it. Just know it will take some time. I know people that only use spinning reels. I know people that only use bait casters. I can’t imagine my life without both. ?

I’m obsessed with keeping score even if I’m the only one in the tournament. I weight almost all the fish I catch that are over a pound or so. I keep my scales and gripper out on the deck. Being spring scales they are always on and zeroed. I unhook the fish, attach the gripper, then hook the gripper on the scale. It takes about 10 seconds.

I would suggest a Diet Mountain Dew bottle. It provides the same performance but its lighter which increases sensitivity.

If you go to any reel companies website they will tell you what features their more expensive reels have that their cheaper reels don't have. Then they explain why these features are better. For example the Shimano Metanium has many advanced technologies such as the MicroModule gear system which is not in their cheaper reels. According to the website: "The MicroModule Gear system creates a smooth retrieve by utilizing smaller teeth to increase the number of contact points between the drive gear and pinion gear. Ultimately, this produces a more efficient gear train with less of a gear feel." Smaller teeth sounds good to me but smaller than what? I assume they are smaller than the gears in a Zebco 33 but who really knows. The only thing we can know for certain in this life is that if you pay more for it, it must be better . It probably won't catch more fish but it has to be better.

Dang. That’s two miles from my house ?. I’ve never put in there even though it would be the ideal place for me to fish that part of the lake. It’s in a good neighborhood but the parking lot is very secluded and would be idea for someone looking to break into vehicles. I drive by there several times a week and alway look down the road to the ramp to see how many vehicles are there. Your story hasn’t helped my security concerns. ?

When I start a home improvement project what tools do I start with? It depends on the project. Same with fishing. The tools (lures) I used depend on the water I'm fishing.

The first thing I would try is loosing the screws and lowering the transducer to see how much that helps. That should be easy. It looks like your transducer is mounted much higher than mine.

I still think the left signal is being blocked by the air pocket that forms behind the transom as you increase your speed.

Congratulations to the teams in the CWS. They say Tennessee had a good team this year. I only watched two games all season, the one on Friday and the one today. ?

My first boat had a 12 volt trolling motor. I had two trolling motor batteries wired in parallel and I ran my electronics off of the same batteries. I did this for about 10 years and never had any interference issues. Today most people are running 24 or 36 volt trolling motors so it’s more complicated to run other things off of them. I’ve known people that have had interference problems. I’ve even heard of people getting interference that leaked through the onboard charger from the trolling motor batteries to the house battery. It happens but not always. There is nothing wrong with having a fish finder and trolling motor on the same battery if interference is not an issue as long as you have enough battery capacity.

If you have a cranking battery use that. If not use your trolling motor battery. If you see interference on the screen when the trolling motor is running, buy a second battery. Many people run electronics on the same battery as their trolling motor without any problems.

I’m guessing we will never hear from the OP again and will never know what the problem was. What a shame. We all love a good electrical issue. ?
