  1. I have 3 of them also. I find them tough as nails. 2 of them have 3 seasons of hard use bank fishing, with no issues. The newest one is over a year old with heavy use. They get atleast a couple hours a week of use. They really are very rugged.
  2. Strike king midnight special. Goes nice and slow with a solid thump.
  3. They come painted in green pumpkin and red flake now to. Plain gray, the fish would throw it back at me laughing. I tend to match them up with the bait. Just because I have a problem, not cuz it matters. So yes you are missing out. Lol.
  4. I guessing that was after the cast.
  5. You’ll like it, it’s perfect will do great with all these things.
  6. That’s pretty sharp I like the grips.
  7. This rod grabbed my attention because of its length. I was looking at the expride 7’2” heavy. Also the Cara Amistad at 7’3”. I wanted the 1/1/2 ounce lure rating. I’m looking to throw mostly 3/8 and 1/2 ounce jigs with it. My concern is most of the places I fish are a little tight for those lengths. I would ideally like to stay in the 6’10” ish range. I’m also getting into fishing from a kayak this year and I feel like I would like to stay under 7’, but not totally sure. I’m doing my best to set a budget around $250 ish. the write up on falcons site says same action as Amistad just shorter, although for a different purpose. I haven’t actually weighed the jigs but I would guess they are in the 3/4 7/8’s total weight range. Cover isn’t to bad some of that coarse spongey stuff at the bottom and some grass here and there. My other rod that goes up to 1 ounce feels a little under powered with the “fuller” jigs off that size. I also have some 1 ounce top hook baits I would like to use on it. Along with 5 inch paddle tails on under spins. Things of that nature if possible. Any insight or experience with this rod or situation would be greatly Appreciated. Been thinking about this all winter and now the seasons here. This rod is in stock at a few places right now. i might be asking allot but the rod I’m looking for might be out there. Thanks For reading all this with my terrible grammar.
  8. Not to sound silly, but is the drag loose from the factory.
  9. That’s awesome. I guess you’re gonna be trying to catch that fish every afternoon for a while now.
  10. Cool, glad you like them. It’s awesome when new gear is a win.
  11. Atta boy.
  12. Nice right up on your first impression.
  13. Trying out some new soft plastics. They look good. Seems like they’ll Be fairly durable. The fat finesse worm looks just the right size.
  14. I’ve thought about getting a rod like that for spinnerbaits. It’s been my Favorite bait to throw for the last two seasons. I just snapped my spinnerbait rod on the first cast of the season. ( a mishap from my last cast of the season last year that I forgot.). Not sure if that’s the way I want to go though. I do seem to like a Slightly softer tip and strong butt section for them.
  15. That looks like money.
  16. That’s interesting, I wondered why you recommended the same rod just longer for heavier bait. Definitely food for thought.
  17. Also if you need to add line later a double uni with 30 pound braid on both sides is really small and a non issue. Or you’ll have a little less on the reel in another season or so. Put the rest of the filler spool on the reel then fill back up.
  18. Why not I’d try it. I bet you’ll catch something
  19. You can literally go to the store. For about $20 pick out 5 jigs that YOU think are the coolest looking colors on the rack. 2 or 3 of those are going to work just fine. Go back to store and buy a couple doubles of the cones you liked that worked best. It’s that easy. Don’t forget to have some fun.
  20. Pretty sweet man. What specific baits did you have in mind for that bad boy.
  21. Lol, I can almost here Irene.
  22. I don’t have much to say about that 14 pounder. But I do know that mass and southern NH do give up some decent bass every year. Obviously I don’t hear about DD’s. If you go into some of the mom and pop gas station/bait shop beside some of these smaller off the beaten path lakes and ponds. There a pics on the walls of of real quality fish mostly taken at night. Also since I met a local guy that makes Swimbaits. He’s shown some serious pics. Also mostly at night. Can’t pry out of him where he fishes though. I’d be real surprised if allot of these pics weren’t over 7 pounds, and a handful bigger. I know that’s not quite what we’re talking about here, just adding some info.
