I’m not sure a few cool nights is really the start of the fall transition. The leaves are still green, no acorns or pine cones on the ground. The vegetation in the water is still green. This is my assessment in mass anyway. The water really only cooled down A few degrees. What I’m seeing is just a few more active fish, in the cooler more oxygenated water. Also the water everywhere around here is really low. That makes fishing tough regardless.

Congrats man, that’s a sweet combo. It looks sweet. without being to flashy. I might have to put that on my off season list.

A friend of mine uses the zodias glass rod in mh I think. He loves it, silky smooth deep parabolic bend, with plenty of hook setting power. Those were his exact words. He throws a jackhammer 80% of the time with great success.

I picked up a couple 1/2 ounce meps, last time out. I should try them out. Won’t hurt since I can’t catch anything anyway. My dad always used them, and always caught fish.

I can’t catch a fish on a chatterbait so it doesn’t matter what I use.

If your River is like the ones we have here be prepared to loose a few. Don’t let this Discourage you though.

Regular 7” channel lock needle nose pliers. I don’t leave them outside and they don’t rust.

Unfortunately, I’ve been honest my whole life. This is how it’s gonna go. You’ll not be smiled on by the gods. You’ll not win the lottery. You’ll not catch the state record( cause of this). You’ll have no reward of any kind. What you will be, is the guy at the party who listens to how the other guy got to keep his free rod. Yup just like that. it was still the right thing to do though.

How much will see water. That ? Has been running through my mind since I got home. The opened stuff in the box will see water. The unopened I’m not sure.

Went to visit my mother and step father over in Up state New York for the week end. My step father came across his dads tackle and gave it to me. Now his dad passed 22 years ago. Lots of really cool stuff. Everything is 22 years old or older.

Stick a pen through it and put it between your feet. It will unroll, in stead of unwind. If that makes sense. Just like a brand new extension cord for example. With shoes on of course.

Reel with the same hand you always have. Hold the rod in the same hand you always have. It will be fine. They didn’t have a choice before. When I switched to casting gear, I got it to be used the same same way I used my spinning gear. I didn’t know people switched hands until I started reading here.

I have the carbonlite 2.0 M/f with a 2500 shimano nasci. It’s been great for everything I’ve used it for.

I feel like color and type of presentation, matter now. that there are so many people fishing. Been trying hard to throw something completely different then they’ve seen all day. Some times it works sometimes it don’t.

He should be able to fish a weightless t rigged stick worm on casting gear.
