Abu Garcia Villain vs Fenwick Aetos
I own 3 Aetos rods and absolutely love them. They're light and sensitive. I own 2 spinnings and one casting. Which Power/action/lenght are you looking at ?

Where does a Light or medium-light come in?
I use light rods for Brook trout. Medium Light rods for trout (moderate or moderate fast action) and bass (fast, extra-fast action) with ned rigs/Dropshot setups

Advice or opinions wanted
St.Croix are known to fish stiffer. If it is still in the lure wt range you fish, you could go down in power. Otherwise you might check other brands. I own a few Aetos and they are my favorites followed by Elite Techs and then come the St.Croix Mojo Bass (2 models)

economy braided line

Rod/Reel Transport...?
I Built a ceiling Rod Carrier inside my Jeep Liberty. Rods are in Rod gloves but not reels. It fits up to 7'3" rods and maybe 7'6" wouldnt be too bad. 7'11" is trickier though... I also have a rod tube on the kayak trailer but have yet to use it. The ceiling rack

Medium, Moderate Action Spin Rod is a hard find
I'm surprised nobody mention Fenwick Lunker Stik. I also used a Fenwick Elite Tech Bass 6'9" M/MF and was ok with smaller cranks.

Bass fishing Vs other sports
Billiards and bodybuilding are Worldwide. Bass fishing, like Nascar and American football is pretty endemic to the USA with some exceptions for Canada and Japan. Bass fishing, especially kayak Bass fishing is growing in Canada.

"Family" pics: Upper left is a Piscifun Phantom 7.0:1 reel. I changed the knobs for cork knobs instead of original EVAs. It will be paired with a Fenwick Techna AV 6'6" MHF as a spinnerbait setup. Upper right is a good ol' Citica 200e, 6.3:1 with a Curado spool, bushing replaced with a bearing and a longer straight aftermarket carbon fibre handle with cork knobs with gunmetal accents. It will be paired with a Fenwick Lunker Stick 7'3" MM and is my cranking setup. Lower left is a Curado 200IHG (7.2:1) with upgraded swept carbon fiber handle and cork knobs, gunmetal/milled alu accents. It is paired with a Mojo Bass 7'11" Flippin' Rod for heavier jigs (over 1/2oz). Lower right is a KastKing Spartacus Plus that had its handle replaced with a carbon fiber one with just a tad smaller cork knobs than original. Is actually orphan.
