  1. Down here in Texas we are still swimming in our backyard pools...praying for cooler weather.
  2. If you do decide to send it in to someone for repair and they are unable to find a part....let me know.
  3. Why fix what ain't broke.? (unless you just want to try something new).
  4. Never heard of them but just looked them up. I am super picky if I am going to spend $20 on a squarebill. I would do it if they would have put their name/logo on the bait somewhere. ( I know I know...super picky)
  5. Like many of you I am no scientist either. I have seen bass swallow crawdads headfirst, tailfirst, sideways, from up top, left and right and all other ways. Besides I don't think they have time in moving or dirty water to sit there, evaluate the situation, formulate a plan and execute a strategic strike. The quick inhalation is what keeps them from getting pinched, and the muscles in the throat orient the bait quickly for ease of swallow. Just my 2 cents. I don't give bass as much credit as most do though.

Dear God!...you aint lying! They have absolutly no reason to bother with your lure
  7. When the white bass run down here happens all the trees along the creeks fill up with Roadrunners, Little Georges, Spoons and Grub Baits. Looks like Christmas trees. Watch people fill up bags full of baits after the run is over.
  8. I will have 200 meaningful post by December at this rate. Will that allow me to participate?
  9. Thanks for the update! We have been following this thread since original first post.

What did you do/use before the ned rig came about?
  11. Seems like a step backwards in reel design. Must have been existing tooling.
  12. Only when my braid gets low. I have never lubed my lines (mono or braid) before. Seems like another "catch the fisherman" product.
  13. I never understood why fisherman who can throw a baitcaster already....would get a DC? Just something different in the arsenal I guess.
  14. We did a lot of experiments with that stuff. It does work great! Water and mud just slide right off of it..and litterly everything else we threw at it. It does leave a white film on things and can make soft material brittle.
  15. I still fish a Bantam Mag Plus... plan on buying some more shortly.

The only reason I will purchase a swimbait over $100 is because I want a collectors piece.
  17. I am finding myself to be the exact opposite. As I am getting older I find myself bringing less and less rods out fishing with me. Now usually using 1 or 2 to do everything.
  18. I took my BIL fishing and he put a zoom lizard 12" under a cork...in 16' of water. I think I was able to hold it in for 30 minutes before telling him his odds of catching a catfish on that rig was very slim.

They still work just like day 1. They are just not the latest and greatest.
  20. I have been wanting to give this reel a try. I have fished the platinum and it was a great reel. If you compare this reel to the H20 Tac-40 reel they have the same specs except for the japanese sealed bearings. The Tac is $99.
  21. I would post a good up to date example of a gimmick, but last time I did I was accused of trying to sell a companies product that I do not work for. It cost me penalty points or something on here. So I will say helicopter lure because I think that one is outdated and safe to mention.
  22. Its matters to the fisherman and the lure manufacture. The fish....not so much.
  23. I think its a great idea for the live/dead bait chunker. Might have a hard time convincing a bass fisherman to add an additional hook keeper to his rod. There are many many versions of what you are proposing out there as well. Either way....glad to see someone trying to improve upon something in the rod world. Don't give up!
  24. I haven't really found a baitcast reel that I didn't like. Not really brand loyal either. My go to reels this past year or so has been old Bantam Mag Plus reels.
