In between times...
Down here in Texas we are still swimming in our backyard pools...praying for cooler weather.

Academy H2O Xpress TAC-40 Reel
If you do decide to send it in to someone for repair and they are unable to find a part....let me know.

Tokyo rig vs. Carolina rig
Why fix what ain't broke.? (unless you just want to try something new).

Buck Creek Balsa lures?
Never heard of them but just looked them up. I am super picky if I am going to spend $20 on a squarebill. I would do it if they would have put their name/logo on the bait somewhere. ( I know I know...super picky)

You ever wonder how bass eat bluegill and crawfish so easily when we can’t even pick them up without getting nipped?
Like many of you I am no scientist either. I have seen bass swallow crawdads headfirst, tailfirst, sideways, from up top, left and right and all other ways. Besides I don't think they have time in moving or dirty water to sit there, evaluate the situation, formulate a plan and execute a strategic strike. The quick inhalation is what keeps them from getting pinched, and the muscles in the throat orient the bait quickly for ease of swallow. Just my 2 cents. I don't give bass as much credit as most do though.

Blowing up on shad
Dear God!...you aint lying! They have absolutly no reason to bother with your lure

bank fish dream spot beware of overhead obstruction.
When the white bass run down here happens all the trees along the creeks fill up with Roadrunners, Little Georges, Spoons and Grub Baits. Looks like Christmas trees. Watch people fill up bags full of baits after the run is over.

Fall Ned Rig ?
What did you do/use before the ned rig came about?

KVD new lews baitcaster
Seems like a step backwards in reel design. Must have been existing tooling.

How often do you change your braided line and why?
Only when my braid gets low. I have never lubed my lines (mono or braid) before. Seems like another "catch the fisherman" product.

Disappointed in the Curado DC
I never understood why fisherman who can throw a baitcaster already....would get a DC? Just something different in the arsenal I guess.

Waterproofing A Tackle Bag?
We did a lot of experiments with that stuff. It does work great! Water and mud just slide right off of it..and litterly everything else we threw at it. It does leave a white film on things and can make soft material brittle.

Swimbait Prices
The only reason I will purchase a swimbait over $100 is because I want a collectors piece.

I'm getting picky in my old age
I am finding myself to be the exact opposite. As I am getting older I find myself bringing less and less rods out fishing with me. Now usually using 1 or 2 to do everything.

We all start somewhere.
I took my BIL fishing and he put a zoom lizard 12" under a cork...in 16' of water. I think I was able to hold it in for 30 minutes before telling him his odds of catching a catfish on that rig was very slim.

BPS Johnny Morris Signature baitcaster
I have been wanting to give this reel a try. I have fished the platinum and it was a great reel. If you compare this reel to the H20 Tac-40 reel they have the same specs except for the japanese sealed bearings. The Tac is $99.

Gimmicks and gadgets curse?
I would post a good up to date example of a gimmick, but last time I did I was accused of trying to sell a companies product that I do not work for. It cost me penalty points or something on here. So I will say helicopter lure because I think that one is outdated and safe to mention.

Does color really matter?
Its matters to the fisherman and the lure manufacture. The fish....not so much.

Hi, I need help with my engineering project
I think its a great idea for the live/dead bait chunker. Might have a hard time convincing a bass fisherman to add an additional hook keeper to his rod. There are many many versions of what you are proposing out there as well. Either way....glad to see someone trying to improve upon something in the rod world. Don't give up!

What’s your favorite reel brands?
I haven't really found a baitcast reel that I didn't like. Not really brand loyal either. My go to reels this past year or so has been old Bantam Mag Plus reels.
