The latest sale thread
seems to be only worth it if you spend over $99 and get the free shipping. still cheaper to order from TW and get free shipping over $50

Pros purposefully misleading about their sponsors baits?
it really all comes down to money with sponsors. do you honestly think scott martin want's to use favorite fishing rods and googan baits? both of those companies are cutting him a ridiculously large check to use and promote both products.

st. croix mojo spinning for finesse
my main purpose for this rod is going to be senko's(weightless and light weighted), wacky rigs, shaky heads, tubes. i have a dedicated dropshot dobyns fury.

st. croix mojo spinning for finesse
Thanks for the info! I already have a dedicated dropshot rod with my dobyns fury 7' ML. The reason I'm grabbing another rod dedicated for weightless soft plastics, wacky, shakey head, is to avoid re-tying, especially during tournaments. I'll look into the 6'8 wacky style rod especially since it has a XF tip. Thanks for the input! Every brand differs, which is why I'm looking for some input on the St. Croix regarding how tip heavy/stuff their medium power rods are. I think I am leaning towards the wacky style rod with the x-fast action

st. croix mojo spinning for finesse
going to be throwing weightless plastics, tubes, shakey heads, etc. i know lot's of people say st. croix run heavier than adverstised. will be pairing with straight 8lb flouro or 15lb braid with an 8lb. flouro leader. is the 7'1 medium ideal, or should i go with the 6'10" medium light?

Close to Finalizing Setups for Upcoming Season - Thoughts?
i think you might be slightly overthinking everything, especially given that you are "newer" to bass fishing. i understand you're really trying to break every single technique down to a science, but you are going to overwhelm yourself with uncertainty. keep it simple, have fun, and slowly gain confidence with as much as you can without complication

culling systems
The Cal Coast clips are probably what I am going to go for. Better reviews than most especially since they upgraded their clips from the original.

Bassmaster Elite St. Johns River
After watching pretty much the whole MLF event, this Bassmaster Elite series coverage is literally putting me to sleep. I love the 5 bass limit format, especially since that is what I fish, but for entertainment and viewing purposes MLF is going to BURY the Bassmaster Elite series. It sure doesn't help that majority of the huge names all migrated over to MLF either.

Connecticut B.A.S.S Nation Club - Looking for members!
CT Yankee Bassmasters are always looking for new members! We are an official B.A.S.S sanctioned club based out of lower western Connecticut that has been around for 20+ years! Boaters preferred as we had a few drop out this year due to moving/personal reasons. We hold 10 tournaments throughout the year starting from mid/end of April to late September. Lakes we fish include Candlewood Lake, Bantam Lake, East Twin Lakes, Lake Zoar, Lake Lillinonah, Wononskopomuc Lake (lakeville), and Highland Lake. Monthly meetings held in Milford, CT on the first Tuesday of every month during the tournament season. Low tournament entry fee with optional lunker pool. If anyone in the Western CT area is looking to join a laid back but competitive environment, send me a PM and I'd love to get you some more information!

Which topwater when and where?
i throw the whopper plopper anywhere i can get away with not getting hung up on vegetation. definitely my go to and confidence topwater bait. i throw frogs when there is a decent amount of cover and muck to move through. and finally i will throw spooks or poppers for when i want to slow down my presentation just a tad.

Strong Points and Weak Points
my strengths are definitely shallower water fishing from 1 ft. to 12 ft. with soft plastics and jigs. it's mainly just a confidence thing. i really want to improve my offshore fishing deeper water and structure, and fishing crankbaits more effectively and make myself believe i can catch fish consistently doing that

Using the same rods and reels
yes and no, it all depends on your preference in the end. i use pflueger spinning reels exclusively, but have a few different casting reels brands between daiwa, quantum, and lews. as for rods, i have a few different brands, but most are dobyns
