  1. My buddy made a getter outer from a 1/2" about 18" long with several big treble hooks along it. Drilled a hole in the middle for heavy cord.
  2. Probably been dropped and the bail bent. Like DVT said try and bend it to get the hinges free.
  3. Not that I need it but I keep a comb in my back pocket to pick out professional overrides. It doesn't hurt the line like a metal pick might.
  4. Read the label and trust it. Sarcasm.
  5. I only fish rivers/streams with my kayak and use an 18" piece of 3/8" chain with the anchor line run through the front handle. If I need more anchor I use another piece of chain. I use a clam cleat to tie the anchor off. The 18" chain pulls up to the kayak to paddle.
  6. Local papers, especially in rural areas, have fishing reports once a week or so.
  7. There is a club on Lake Lanier that, for a donation, will dive and find stuff you dropped overboard.
  8. I use 12lb braid with a 6 or 8lb fluoro leader and skin hook the worm. My skin hooking is lightly through the side of the worm with the point barely under the plastic.
  9. I have the thin slide in in my boat and I usually remove the seat when I'm planing. I take some big guys occasionally and it holds them fine.
  10. I have built several finesse spinning rods looking for the most sensitive for river and stream fishing. The Rainshadow Immortal series is what I settled on. XF walleye blank, IMMWS68MXF-TC. I'm a light freak and use Mudhole SSR guides with a ceramic tip top. I either use 12lb braid with a 6 or 8 lb fluorocarbon leader or straight 6 lb mono, a 1/16th oz bullet weight with a 1/0 or 2/0 worm hook.
  11. Like Tom said a good prop shop has the tools to measure yours.
  12. When I'm bass fishing and am getting bream bites I have an ultralight rod with a 1/32 oz beetlespin. I put on a 5/8" piece of green pumpkin worm I took off the bass rod and catch usually as many as I want.
  13. But not for long. Fished the river this morning for an hour and pooped out. Had 2 bites and caught 2 fish. The picture of the larger one didn't work but this one did. Had to call my wife to help me get the boat on the trailer. Have to get stronger.

  15. Great picture, not a ripple on the water.
  16. I lightly pinch the bullet weight to the line so it slides off if stuck.
  17. Again I'm just wishin to go fishin. Thanks for sharing your exploits. I'll learn next week whether I'm cleared to go fishing. BTW we had a cold front come in this morning and it was 60* and 91 now. Had to put my robe on this morning.
  18. I've used the big lipped Rebels, either jointed or solid for many years and everything bites them.
  19. You can also cut an inch or so off the butt of the rod if it's only one rod that's the problem.
  20. It's been happening with those for years but they catch fish.
  21. I have one on my 14' boat that I mounted in the bow. It's been very reliable for years.
  22. I use spinning reels for finesse fishing with no more than 8 lb line, usually 6 and buy them for weight and speed; lighter and faster. The less time to bring a worm to the boat after it's out of the strike zone the more casts you can do.
  23. The most useful thing is the water temperature where the camera is. Also to find stuff you knocked overboard.
  24. Unless you have a lathe and measuring equipment it's junk, replace it.
  25. If you chop the throttle on most bass boats water can come over the transom. Lithium batteries should help the problem as well as learning to goose the throttle before water comes in. That said my buddy has had a couple of Procraft boats and they're good boats. Heavier than most and not as fast but solid.
