  1. Lake Lanier and it's 5' below full pool.
  2. My buddy with a 3+ and another of me.
  3. Three months with no fishing, two in the hospital but thanks to people praying and modern medicine I survived. My buddy invited me today and my wife OKed it, can't go alone anymore. Met him at the ramp at 10 and we went down the lake. First stop I caught a small Alabama bass on a GP lizard. We fished until after 6 mostly shallow since he fishes every day and knew where they are. He throws a lot of different baits while I usually stick with a worm or spoon. We fished a shallow rocky point and I caught a 2.83 Alabama on a Rock Crawler. He was fishing a small bladed jig and catching a few with 3 over 3 lbs. We ended with him catching 21 and me with 8only a couple under the 14" limit with most between 2 and 3 lbs mostly Alabamas. Got home at 6:30.
  4. I used to have a couple of older ones and aside from being heavy they weren't bad. Over 8 oz is too heavy.
  5. If you have a weed eater that line will probably work.
  6. I recently bought a 2005 boat with an onboard charger for both batteries. I changed the trolling motor battery to a lithium and don't think the onboard charger is fully charging the lithium. I have a stand alone lithium charger that I can probably mount somewhere. I don't have $ for another charger, what do I do? My thought was putting a plug strip and attaching both chargers and running the plug out.
  7. When i drop a spoon in a brush pile and bouncing it doesn't get it loose the knocker works more than 1/2 the time. Yes I've tried other methods.
  8. I carry 2 of the $8 digital scales in my boat. I've checked them with my wife's kitchen scale and they're accurate.
  9. Hope you do good in the tournament, great fish. I had t hit a gator in the snout with my paddle in FL a few years ago.
  10. How many would you like to buy, I have several.
  11. Aprils fools day is the day we moved from CA to GA in 1999. Going home this afternoon from a senior living facility that I've been in for 3 weeks. Fishing again soon.
  12. I just replied above, if they go on the main shaft they'll work.
  13. If they go on the main shaft they'll work.
  14. The heavier winch might have a lower gear ratio for less work when you're using it. Get the 2000 lb.
  15. You're probably home by now but I just saw this post. We have a place near the Withlacoochee where it crosses the 200 and I fish several times a week either in the river or several lakes nearby. One of the nicest and productive floats is from Turners Camp Rd down to the ramp at the 200. There is a large spring about 1/2 way that is spectacular. The outflow is about 3/4 mile downstream and I always catch fish there. Largest is over 4. The Rainbow River is also a great float with 6 miles of crystal clear water to float. Lots of traffic on nice days and weekends. Only boats that are idling. My largest fish on the Rainbow is over 4.
  16. I keep a couple of the $8 Amazon scales on the boat.
  17. Hi Steven, Alex here. Having health problems and had to quit fishing last year but hopefully not this year. You were a good guide last year thanks.
  18. The weight saving alone is why i went with a fepo4 lithium when they first came out 3 + years ago. 12 lbs verses 70. I bought a 50ah lithum for my 45 lb trolling motor and haven't ever run out.
  19. Thanks gentlemen. Besides being old and unsteady I'm also short so the steps by the tires aren't a big help. A 4' step ladder is what I'm using at home.
  20. How many of you older folks have steps on their trailers to help get in and out of their boat. I'm older and don't have good balance anymore so bought some last week. They haven't arrived but I'm looking forward to being safer. I'll post pictures when they arrive and are installed.
  21. The toro looks like an amberjack to me.
  22. I use to use GPS Visualizer to convert Garmin files to Lowrance USR files. Does this still work?
  23. My buddy was given the above unit without the transducer, power cable and mount. It's not hot. Does anyone have these parts for cheap? He also needs to transfer waypoints from a Himminbird Helix to the new Lowrance unit but doesn't know how. Any help? Thanks
  24. See mine in the "latest catch" thread.
  25. I've pretty much done it all from deep clear lakes to shallow rivers the Pacific and Gulf for all kinds of fish, mostly bass the past 26 years. The only thing I can think of is FFS that I haven't done and have no interest in it.
