  1. Here is what I have found works for me after years of punching and flipping. I use a bobber stop to peg the weight but I leave the stopper 1/8-1/4" up the line so that way on a hook set the momentum of the weight will allow it to push itself further up the line
  2. Many seen my earlier post about black label not returning an email about a defective product. As luck would have it they got back with me today. The company is owned by bass pro Cliff Pace. He personally called me to apologize for the extended wait on response time and are replacing the bait in question. They very well may have regained me as a customer depending on how well the baits catch fish. I am a customer service stickler and good or bad I like to let folks know about my experiences . Even with my email getting overlooked somehow I feel the conversation I had with the company today more than made up for it.
  3. What custom cranks are everyone fishing. Always looking for something different that most guys around my area aren't already fishing
  4. Most rules state they are not permitted to use nets. I use a net on any decent fish I catch. I think bouncing them off the console and carpet does way more harm than using a net
  5. Ordered a few crankbaits from black label. These are the ricochet cranks. Fished one for about 10 casts and the paint started chipping off clear to the wood. I emailed the company the company on March 12 the same day it happened which was only about a week after I received my order and still no return email. They were sure quick to take my money but then I have an issue and they can't even reply to a simple email. And yes this was well before all this corona virus shut down fiasco. Any who buyer beware.. They have had almost a month now to make this right.
  6. Just watch the weather. I fish out of a 16 foot tracker with a 25 and have had it on Erie plus most our inland lakes. Only once have I felt like the situation I was in was more than the boat was really made for but I still made it out just fine
  7. Sunline super fc. Very good line for the money I use it for all my fluorocarbon needs https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Sunline_Super_Fluorocarbon/descpage-SLSF2.html
  8. I have been catching bass on top here in Ohio for about 10 days now. Buzzbait bite has been very good. I don't even hide it from guys cause most don't believe that's what your actually catching them on right now anyways.
  9. I just bought 2 new batteries from advanced auto. Ordered online and saved $50 with a coupon they send you through email. Picked them up in store 30 min later. got two brand new group 29 deep cycles for $184. I went to a marine cranking battery from them last year as well and love it. The new everstarts are junk the older ones were well worth there money not, not so much now
  10. If you want a quality light weight sensitive rod for 150 or under look at ARK rods. The tharp series are awesome and right around 130 I believe and the lancer pro is $99 and I feel it fishes way above it's price point. Extremely light and sensitive. I like it better than my $160 daiwa tatula rod I bought last year. I feel the prices could be flipped on them. I use my daiwa rod for light weight flipping spinnerbaits and swim baits and when you really lay into one it makes some pretty odd sounds down around the handle. Almost like theirs voids between the cork and rod blank or something you can almost feel the handle flex on the blank
  11. I use size 2 split rings for almost all of my regular cranking needs. I also use owner brand
  12. I've caught a couple 7s your measurements are very close. I would say you can say 7# and not loose sleep over it up
  13. Straight tail worm Jig Spinnerbait Buzzbait Squarebill Catch fish 12 months out of the year any where in the country with those with the exception of the buzzbait maybe giving you fits with bites below 55 degree water

Ohio's been very good this year for size so far for myself and most of the guys I fish with. Have been on the water since end of January. Going to try to keep track of how many bass I land from this point forward. I'm probably between 75 and 100 bass already for the year . One of my buddies also got a 7 1/2 out of a public lake. It will most likely be the biggest bass for my group of friends for the year
  15. I have a curado k deffinately a solid reel. I would stick with the Shimano over the diawa. Just personal preference. I do not like the curado near as much as a chronarch though
  16. I fish the bbz1 rat in the blue and white color. It is a fish catcher that's for sure. One thing I have noticed though is atleast with mine i have to constantly tune the line tie or it will not run even remotely true.
  17. We do fish for alot of our food. But I also fish for sport more than food. That being said if it was the law I would abide by it. But with it not being the law where I fish I will continue to give myself every advantage possible.
  18. ARK lancer pro very very nice rod for $99
  19. Mmmmmmmm nope. No one is going to do this

I'm the opposite. I often upside in cold water while everyone else Is downsizing and I get to reap the rewards from it. Bigger cranks jerkbaits swimbaits jigs etc right now the fish are feeding before the spawn and they can still be quite lazy they want a big meal that is worth the effort to eat
  21. Clean terminals and connectors reconnect then spray with fluid film. I have even used vasoline put on heavy to protect terminals with good results.
  22. Fluke. Weedless. Guaranteed to catch em
  23. d**n. And I was happy about my 22 pound sack the other day.
  24. All the tourneys I fish now are single day events so I'm not fishing for club points any more . Just can't decide how I want to approach the season. I did have one year where I was prefishing the day before my tournaments and i seemed to do fairly well that year with an even mixture of average keepers and solid fish but still find my self just looking for hawgs still I kind of always seem to swing for the fences and end up choking when I know I should have done better that's why I'm looking for advice
  25. Get yourself some 1/8 ounce jigheads and twister tails of s few different colors and go catch fish. A pack of worms and some 1/0 ewg worm hooks is also cheap
