First Attempt: Nighttime Kayak Fishing
Night fishing Oconee & Sinclair during the Summer I only need two rods and both have Shakey Heads on them for LM. I of course fish the docks but also fish anything out deeper in front of the docks outside of the lights. I've followed behind many boats that only threw to the actual dock and not around it and caught fish. Jugging/Noodles are a legal method to fish. For a little lighting to accurately cast to the dark docks you could run a strip of LED's down the side of your kayak. Goodluck.

Do you still get excited?
Two 8 - 12 hours trips to the lake every week year round and literally everyday/night at my pond for 20 - 30 minutes while my dog rambles. Always excited to fish even after almost forty years of bass fishing.

St Croix premier split grip, Cabela's
I fish two of 7' Med Premier Spinning rods and have no complaints.

August Dog Days Of Summer : Current Favorite Bass Lures ?
Our Georgia heat is why I'm out there in the dark hunting the big girls.

High Risk/High Reward
The difficult to fish, find, or get to spots hold the bigger unmolested fish. That's what I target.

August Dog Days Of Summer : Current Favorite Bass Lures ?
My most consistent bait in the last(10 trips) 5 weeks(night fishing) has been a Black Zoom Trickworm on a Shakey Head lubed up with MegaStrike on cover(mostly rock) in 15 to 30 FOW as our thermocline is at 32'. Every trip I throw my Buzzbaits up around shallow grass and have caught few nice one's but they're almost like hen's teeth right now. I've tried big worms 10 - 14.25", jigs of all sizes, swimbaits from 2 - 10 inches, and T - rigged craws which have produced a few but none can compare to the SH.

Bait smells(from factory)
I hope you don't have Pike and or Musky. Life lessons are sometimes painful & permanent. ?

The fish bit back tonight
Get you a pair of compound cutters and just cut the split ring. Much quicker and less painful. So a memorable trip??

Alabama Rig / A-Rigs in Summer
Not the best lure for my hot water bass. Too many miles of casting/retrieving per fish.

Spot stealing
My what are they biting on answer is the 3/8 oz Rattling Beetle Spin in Fire Tiger

Spot stealing
Night fishing is definitely good but unfortunately I've got an old 81 year old man that follows me around in his boat at night. He's my buddy but every now & then I'll still holler at him to "GET OFF MY SPOT". He just acts like he can't hear me and keeps doing his thing.?

Spot stealing
The fishermen watchers & bent rod pattern folks have multiplied by 10 since the Covid run all the nonfishing folks to fishing. Similar to A - Jay that's when I'll spotlock, check in with the wife, and have some coffee. I think it's the uneducated for the most part but also lazy.

Bait/gear monkey and an unused rod - new reel?
The MGL's are great casting and smooth. I fish two MGL 70 XG's and one HG. My Curado DC can't handle the lighter weights the MGL handles effortlessly.

Have you ever noticed...
I spent a couple hours this morning removing Eel grass and some weed that looks like a 6' green spaghetti noodle off my buzzbaits. 8 or 9 out of every 10 cast was fouled. Good times!

Holy crap!
Otters are crazy. Had three come out of the water one more while duck hunting on the Chattahoochee River to run me out of their territory. I was standing in waist high grass in the dark and didn't want any new holes in my waders so I sent a couple 12 ga Hevi-Shots in their direction. My bud was hiding the boat during my volley. When he made it back he laughed til he cried at my hilarious story until I showed him the tracks of those jokers within a couple feet of me and coming in from multiple directions for the attack. Since that day they receive no quarter from me.

Night Light/ Heat Lamp
Went again this morning from 1am -9am. Hooked a big fish shallow around 3am on a black quad blade buzzbait with fresh Gamakatsu trailer hook and after 7 or 8 seconds she just came unbuttoned. No idea, maybe hooked in the face(outside the mouth). It was a cannonball explosion strike and I never even turned her. Caught a LM at 4am on a T - rigged craw in 25 FOW and a Spot at 6am on a Shakey Head in 30 FOW. It was another bright night with a 97% Moon. Water is 88.5 degrees and the fish aren't happy. Looking forward to cooler weather & water.

Curado 150 MGL
Nope. Just recieved my third Curado 70 MGL and looked at the 150 MGL and haven't found a reason to want one. But my monkey has my credit card # so

Line conditioner users
All my reels gets couple squirts of KVD L & L no matter what they're spooled with just prior to a trip.

Crankbait Presentation
The Eel grass and Hydrilla in my primary lake will just about make me lose my mind while fishing a crankbait. 8 out of 10 cast is ruined by weeds I personally can't jerk free and I'm a pretty strong fisherman. I will definitely try fishing over them next time.

Advice for lure choice and fish location in HIGHLY stained water
I fish one lake that goes from 2 - 3' visibility to a couple inches of visibility from a light sprinkle of rain. I'm speaking of mud not dark tea and our two most effective lures are a Shakey Head black Trick worm coated in MegaStrike and a Spro(light colored belly) Popping Frog. Our bass move very shallow and tight to cover. We keep the boat a short pitch from the bank and the guy in the back mostly cast to the same spots and catches 75% of the fish. Don't be afraid to cast to a spot 2 or 3 times because we do and it works.
