Will a tiny knot going the rod guides eventually break my guides?
I run braid to FC connected with an Alberto knot on 60 % of my rods. In 15 years I've had exactly one insert come out of the tip of a St. CROIX spinning rod. Did the knot do it? More than likely me accidentally reeling up to the tip night fishing.

Our Spotted bass will untie a perfectly tied knot if you leave them something to work with.? Plus all the reason stated above.

How important to identify weeds?
I've identified the weeds in the 5 lakes I fish the most and simplified how I fish them. Fish the grass for LM and hard/rocky areas for Spots.

Timing
Time/Timing is priceless. This time of year if you miss time your arrival time at the ramp, you'll burn alot of fishing time watching the fair weather folks trying to launch their boats. I time it were I'm at my first fishing spot of the day at daylight because when I'm fishing time actually speeds up.

Where do I park?
Trucks with a trailer connected can be pulled while in park. But it's not pretty. Been there done that got the T- shirt.?

Baitcaster for finesse rigs??
I've cast a 1/10 jig & TRD(not super light) on my tuned Curado 70 and it works ok. But I prefer my Stradic 1000, it just feels right and alot times I'm fishing 15 to 25' and the Stradic allows for a vertical sink.

What is your favorite monofilament line?
14 lb Stren Original on conventional topwater baits and P-Line CXX 20, 25, and 30 on my big swimbait setups. I will substitute the CXX with Big Game bought locally if I failed to order the CXX before I run low(rare).

Getting bigger bites during a hot bite
On my home lake I have 5 places in the Spring and Fall that the bass(Spots & LM) will corral the thread fin & sometimes bluebacks up against the shallow grass lines. I'll catch piles of 1 & 2lbers on spoons & jerkbaits. When I get enough of them and want to target a big one I'll slow roll my 6" Bull Herring or 9" SS Bull Shad 8 or 10 cast and sometimes I'll get a reaction and sometimes not. Works often enough I'm gonna keep on doing it. With that said I do agree that 4+ lbers don't typically hang with schoolers. I believe when I catch a bigger one doing that the schoolers got a resident big fired up.

Sk Red Eye Shads Not Running Right (Help!)
I received a order with 8 SK RES's last week and the four I tried ran on their right side at any speed other than a crawl. I switched lures as I was tempted to start casting into the rocks above the water line at high velocity.

Fishing on a tough day
On my primary lake I'll ease out to the humps and throw Megabass Okashira 1/8 oz jig with either a 3" Spark shad or Z-Man Slim Swimz 3". It's produced a couple Spotted bass every time I've thrown it. It's like a spybait I can crawl on the bottom. It's pushing the Ned off the save my rump pedestal.

Do you lock your boat trailer in the lot?
I know right. My front door in under 2 minutes really bothered my wife. So I picked up a door handle jam bar. Stolen trailer would be aggravating but it's insured and replaceable. A wife that never complains no matter how long or often you fish is much more difficult to replace.?

Do you lock your boat trailer in the lot?
Hitch and receiver locked at all times. But it's just to prevent ease of thievery. I've got a good friend that can silently pick a pad or pin style lock in under a minute with a kit he bought online. He picked my front door bolt lock and handle lock in under 2 minutes.

Ever hear of otters eating all the bass in a pond?
Yes. Otters are very efficient hunters. I've removed several from my beaver pond.
