  1. Sometimes a fish just dies on you. I strive to weigh, photograph, and have them back in the water inside a minute.
  2. Hay season's done, time for deep dive maintenance.
  3. Sounds like what my back did. Just motoring along and it came apart.
  4. Caught six today on spoons and topwater. Biggest pictured.
  5. Inexplicable? Not yet and I've spent a many of nights in deep dark swamps, waist to chest deep hunting beavers and pigs. Probably a 1000 plus nights predator calling. I'm the inexplicable thing the animals tell stories about.
  6. Glad you're feeling better. Fishing in the Sun helps with vitamin D, in case your need an excuse to go daily.
  7. My favorite. I watch it every Halloween.
  8. Happy Birthday! Hope everyone gets over that mess quickly.
  9. Steep yard
  10. My FIL asked me to handle big wasp nest, so I hit them with the spray. Turned out to be a Bumblebee nest. First time I've seen a nest of them
  11. Zero times since getting SpotLock. Did it for years on a windy deep lake and used to come home beatdown from hauling anchor. When I fish current I have one on board, JIC.
  12. Welcome to the forum.
  13. I've turned wrenches on jet engines for over 36 hours straight several times in my youth. I quit pulling those excessive hours after I pulled into my driveway after working many hours and nodded off sitting in my running truck. I woke up 1, 10, or 20 minutes later and put my truck in reverse to head to work as my wife walks out and waves me down. She ask "Where are you going", I said to work, she said get in the house, you've been gone almost two days. Pro tip - some of the best sleep you can get is in a comfortable deer stand after sitting in the cold dark and getting good and cold. Then that first bit of Sun starts warming you up and the sleep monster will jump on ya and choke you out.
  14. I fully understand the instinct to help injured animals. It's a tough call no doubt. You must weigh your safety, anybody in your vehicle, and other driver's safety with the traffic conditions at the moment. I had a friend go through rabies shots, almost lose a finger, and undergo surgery to repair tendons or ligaments about 15 years ago trying to help a hurt dog in the road that bit him.
  15. Excellent. Very happy for you and your son. Hurry up and get moved in and get us some fish pics.😄
  16. Fall transition? Catching most of my fish on jigging spoons over 30 - 40 FOW by casting and slowly reeling it.
  17. I run a 30 lb transom motor on my 12' jon in ponds only and it's slow going with two grown men and gear. I'd suggest a 40 lb minimum but a 55 lb is what I'll replace my 30 with if it ever dies. Battery, the lightest 100 ah that fits you budget.
  18. Nobody forgets their first kidney stone. Had my first at 17, I'm somewhere around #55 and they haven't any less painful. I've actually passed 3 or 4 while fishing. Get you some Flomax(Tamsulosin) and muscle relaxers as it really helps expedite the trip from kidney to bladder. Almost forgot a latest catch pic.
  19. A Stud Bull. They're well cared for and only have to eat, sleep, and .........
  20. I agree with JediAmoeba on the bigger rod and the smaller glides not really gliding. I'd suggest looking at a 1 - 6 or 2 - 8 oz rod.
  21. Glenn you're The MAN!
  22. 9" Bull Shad SS When I need a break from throwing that heavy joker I'll throw the 6" floating, 6", 7", 8" BS SS, or Spro Chad Shad.
  23. Very very slow for me too on my phone. It's seems to be BR only as anywhere else isn't slow. Got this blue message about search index.........
  24. 7.2 lbs on 2 lb mono with a Renosky keystone jig minnow. I was having a great time catching bluegills until the fat girl interrupted me.
  25. I run hot so Columbia shorts until the high stops at 55. Lower than 55 Wrangler jeans.
