I have a Lews Tournament Pro MB on it and the gear ratio is 7:2.1 I believe. They don't make that reel anymore but I also have the reel they replaced it with in the MP and they are great reels also!

I need to do this also! I have so much tackle and lures that I will probably never catch a bass on it is sickening! I am starting down the path of just simplifying stuff I am using, and have noticed I am starting to figure out my local lakes better!

Definitely the best deal you will find is the Duracell AGM's from a Sam's club. I have two in my boat right now and no complaints at all. Will be buying a third when I have the extra money!

You should be fine with that one! I believe my buddy has one he uses with his kayak. Haven't heard him complain about it slowing him down.

I have only fished it a couple times with my brother, but I would say whatever you are using to fish Champlain and St. Lawrence would most likely catch fish at Oneida also. Just watch the weather is all I can tell you cause Oneida will become a different animal in a second!

I forwarded the video to my brother, he has been making baits from balsa for about a year now. He does pretty good with it, still learning and still messing with ways to make things better. He said you did an awesome job and you need to post more videos of baits you are making. He is going to attempt the plopper now that he has seen your video! Keep up the good work!
