The Found Lures Thread
I don't care how cold or deep the water was, I would be swimming for that combo if it fell off my boat!

What am I doing wrong?
Learning new techniques takes patience! Best advice I have for you is to leave everything at home other than the technique you want to get more proficient with. This is gonna equal days where you don't catch fish and some slow days till you figure out how to fish that technique better! Believe me I am trying to do the same thing and it is tough, but will be worth it in the end!

Disrespectful Fishermen
My first call would be to the natural resources Dept of the state and have a warden/wildlife officer come out and look around and show them what is going on! No sense in you confronting these folks, by the sounds of it they are morons!

New Project...Carpet & Seats
Looks very nice to me man! I will most likely be looking at this process here in the next year or so with my bass tracker, the carpet is getting a little rough in it!

Need recommendations for backpack
I have the Flambeau Ritual backpack, It will hold 4 3700 trays and other stuff in the other pockets. It has a padded area where it sits on your back and the shoulder straps are padded also. Even though it can get heavy if you aren't careful it is actually quite comfortable to carry while fishing. It is well made, I have had it now for at least 4 years and haven't had anything fail on it!

There are still great people all over this world, but pushing those stories doesn't pay the bills!

Most Expensive Set Up
Can be but doesn't have to be, just like fishing. It is what each person is willing to put into it to do that sport!

Most Expensive Set Up
I always said I wouldn't spend the kind of money I have the last couple of years, but I did. I always say buy what you can afford and like, it doesn't matter to me, just get out there and fish!

Most Expensive Set Up
All my casting combos are around the $250 price mark, spinning combos are well below that price mark!

How would you fish it
In southern Ohio we have old mining ponds that were stocked with fish many years ago. They have vegetation that grows up like that also. I always fish a weightless boot tail swimbait on a screwlock hook in it. Then you can keep it weedless. Reel it over the tops of that stuff and let it fall in the holes, usually they hit it when I kill the bait! Also use weightless lizards and do the same thing!

Welcome! Anytime I can help just let me know, that is how I think sportsmen should be!

Ohio AEP fishing
I think it is because most of them are left alone, they were stocked in those ponds a long time ago. They have a chance down there to live longer I think because most people are too lazy to hike to find the more remote ponds. Plus most people I have seen throw back everything down there, you don't have the guys sitting on the shore of them with their buckets keeping everything they catch. Most of the lakes up here in Northeast Ohio have the issue of people keeping everything they catch no matter size or species. Plus it does stay a little warmer down that way all year round compared to up here, may be only a few degrees but that may make a difference, and those ponds are so deep I am sure the water stays warm much longer. Just my opinions, so take them for what they are!

Ohio AEP fishing
There are so many down there and it is such a huge area even if I tried to explain where the ponds I have best luck are I probably still couldn't get you to them. I don't know road names just drive around looking is what I do! I don't know where you are coming from to get there so hard for me to tell you direction wise where I fish! There is an old road near camp K that has a gate across it, if you hike back that road there are three or four very good ponds, they are a ways back in there and off the road itself! Get one of the maps and just find some ponds, that is the fun of it down there you get to explore and fish! Another tip is fish brutally slow, the grass in those ponds are thick and very dense! I use a lot of soft plastics unweighted while fishing there, like a swimbait (missile shockwave) is what I caught my biggest on down there. It was almost 7#, I cast to shore drag it off the grass and let it fall right at the edge of the grassline and they knock the slop out of it, lizards work good( dark colors), also big creature baits. Also with the swimbait reel a couple times after it hits the water then kill it! Works like a charm! Hope this helps and have a blast man.

Ohio AEP fishing
Yes great place to catch the bass of a lifetime in Ohio! Are you taking a kayak? Or another way to get on the water? Just remember the harder you have to work to get to a pond the better the fishing is going to be, also the better chance of that big one! A friend and I fish out of float tubes down there, we can put them on our back like a back pack and hike into ponds. If you are going to fish from shore it will limit your access. We have both caught bass over 6# down there and have seen at least three over 8# caught by others! It is beautiful and relaxing down there, my favorite place to fish in the state. Make sure you wear spray for ticks and check your skin throughout the day, the ticks are horrible!

Spring bass fishing
3" inch Senko style bait on a #1 ewg hook and a 1/16oz bullet weight pegged above it! Cast up stream and let the current bring it back through! This is what I always use when fishing a creek in my area and always catch fish! Usually green pumpkin black flake or watermelon black flake for color!

How to catch prespawn northern bass?
My little brother lives up your direction, you are a little further north than he is. He has been killing everything up that way with a Red Craw squarebill crank lately. He caught a 4 pound smallie on one cast and then a 36" long musky on the very next cast.
