  1. You are correct! Not making excuses for them, but they fish like that every year when the walleye are running, so I don't know why the DNR thought it would be any different this year. I am all for everyone having their rights when it comes to fishing and hunting, but they should have shut that down before the walleye even started up the river, for that reason alone. Never understood the enjoyment of fishing like that in the first place.
  2. Pretty sure the city shut all access to the river if I am not mistaken, said they don't have the manpower to enforce anything so just going to close all the access points they can!
  3. Praying for him and his family, like there wasn't already enough stress. Wishing him a speedy recovery
  4. It can definitely be overwhelming for sure!
  5. I am no expert but if it was me I would use the 5.3:1 for cranking, and get the 8.2:1 for the pitching. My reasoning is the faster gear ratio you can get the bait in and out of cover quicker and get more casts in. Just my opinion
  6. Now you are just getting greedy!!!!?
  7. Sounds like Dobyns stocked up on rod for the busy season and then this crap hit, think he is just trying to get out from under the stock he had set back and make some money to help his company right now!
  8. Oh so that was you, looking like a weirdo that I drove past!!! haha?
  9. Let me guess you love blue though? ??
  10. Sad what people will do to someone out of jealousy! Sorry to hear of this!
  11. So you don't like fishing a jerkbaits? Got it!
  12. Just keep at it man, sometimes with the up and down temps and the extra rain it is hard to figure them out. I had the same problem last year. I haven't been out much this year yet and haven't had a nibble but they are beginning to eat in my area so I need to get out, before the state says we can't!!!
  13. Try to downsize maybe, Ned rig, weightless T-rigged plastics, a friend of mine has caught ten in the last two days on a chatterbait. Hope those ideas help! Maybe need to slow down and fish a little deeper or shallower than what you are now. Also enjoy being out, some folks can't do that right now with all the crap going on right now. Not trying to be a jerk! Sorry if I came off that way!!! Best of luck, stay safe and tight lines!!!
  14. I really like those jigs!! Looks like a killer bait and also something I can tie up myself.
  15. Yeah I use the NED rig here and there, but the creek we fish is big boulders to gravel and everything in between. The T-rigged plastic doesn't hang up as often!
  16. So far still open here in Ohio, I would go also no matter what!
  17. I use a #1 ewg hook with a 1/16 oz lead bullet weight. The creek we fish the most the color we have best luck with would be green pumpkin black flake, and watermelon black flake. We just cast it upstream of to the side of us and let it drift with the current.
  18. 4" here mostly for me, will throw a 5" once in awhile. 3" in the creeks for me.
  19. Well done sir! I applaud you for teaching your children respect for the earth. Don't see that much anymore!
  20. Well you just fell down the worm hole of bass fishing. Now comes all the rods and reels and tackle that we all have convinced ourselves we need to pursue those Brown and green fish! Welcome to the disease!
  21. I have the regular terminal box, and you are correct they are heavy even before you put stuff in them.
  22. 4 and 5 inch for me also. Mostly 4 inch
  23. Once again, the things we tell ourselves to justify more tackle!!! ?
