  1. But can you beat my boy Gerkin????
  2. That's was my understanding about Trophy Management. It doesn't necessarily mean that there are trophy fish in there, it means that they are putting certain regulations into effect to try to grow trophy fish. That is correct...
  3. What it means is that it is a managed body of water. Just like Ray Scotts lake. They constantly meter baitfish to Bass and adjust the keeper size to allow for the female to get big. If the population is off balance, adjustments to keeper size are made.
  4. Still have a pic of that. Ron I told you where to fish Royal.......Every "season" a bass 7-10lbs is caught and released in that lake! I know it is tough to swallow, but it's in my back yard. So when ever I fish it or go for a walk, I stop and talk to the regulars and get the scoop. The other thing that I have been hearing is they are shallow. I had the chance to experience this last Saturday.
  5. You got to have a sensitive flippin stick to capitalize on jigs. Because it is a partly metal bait that has a heavy weed gaurd, if you feel 2 taps it is over. Gotta feel the first one. The right color is key also, I'll show you if we ever hook up. I have all you need to learn..
  6. Who won it? Matt, that is an excellent goal. If you make the classic I will hire 3 hooters girls that are holding signs that read "GO MATT STRYKUL!!"
  7. It is a good sized store, lets just say if Zoom made they got it. They carry a great selection of pretty much everyting. Rods, reels, soft plastics, jigs, live bait and so on. They even have a great selection of fire arms... Trust me on this, I drive 90 minutes just to shop there. BPS and Dicks don't sell half of what I'm lookin for, Greentop sells all of it.........Except Powell rods. ;D
  8. Yep, can't say he didn't try. If it can't be done with a Revo, it ain't gonna be done at all. I've been a Shimano guy for many years myself but I sure do like the Revo's now too. A couple of my buddies swear by them, I have yet to buy one. I am hung up on my Johnny Morris, 50MG and President reels. But the next purchase will be a toss up between a Zillion or STX.
  9. Well then congrats to Glenn for trying to sway him from just one brand. Signed, Mr Significant........
  10. Give the guy a break. The STX was a gift and he's doing his best not seem ungrateful about it. If he had won it in a raffle he'd probably have sold it unused but his situation is a bit more tense than that. At least he has some morals in the dept of received gifts and has fished with it whether he actually likes it or not. Sorry there Jeffery!!!! I am pretty sure that RW can handle his own ribbing!!!! I have nothing but respect for RW, he gives solid advise and handles this site like a pro! As for you, I do'nt know you and don't ever remember you so step back........Even if you are the one to give him this fantastic reel!!!
  11. Odd, the folks at Abu Garcia haven't heard that rumor. First off, RW fishing something other than a "Shimano"...........What that the fudge (only I did'nt say fudge.)! I thought you practiced what you preached? Guess not. Second, I have heard no rumors either, why change anything on the best selling/performing reel of the past 2 years.
  12. A piece of advise. Do not build the frame of the deck out of wood. Build it out of aluminum box tube or L channel. Wood has way to much weight and causes a jon to plow through the water. I also know a couple of boats already decked and ready to go. PM if you need more info.
  13. Not yet........It'll be a couple of weeks.
  14. I have fished it since the early 80's and it seems to come and go..........But it was here this morning!!!
  15. Just tell Dan that Rob Mitchell sent you to beat him......He'll love it. Dan is a great freind of mine and I used to work in his sweat shop of lures......... Next year I'm gonna hire like 3 Hooters girls to hold up signs that say "GO MATT STRYKUL"!!!!!!
  16. Slomoe...... How did you do? Or should I say what did you do?
  17. Are you fishing the tourny? You have to beat Gerkin....
  18. Ah, a new guy! I'm buddies with Trevor. I'll be pond hoppin in the morning, so if your game gimmie a shout.
  19. I own several Kistler at the moment and will own a few more here shortly. The Graphite series are great rods. I own 2 of the baitcasing Graphites and 2 LTA Heliums love them all.
  20. To those who think it to be a dead sea.....Went out this morning for 2 hours. Fished the dam area and the shallows next to the soccer feilds. Buzzbait was king, caught 14. 9 of them keepers, the biggy was caught by the soccer feilds and was about 4lbs. I wish I could have stayed but I'm off to my girls soccer game!!!!
  21. I was doing really good with the soft body swim baits earlier in the year, but it seemed like July was the cut off point. I will be throwing them this weekend so I'll keep you guys posted on it.
  22. I will drive past BPS and go to Greentop anyday. They have what a serious angler needs without all the BS. I bet I would be divorced and broke if the store was in northern Virginia! ;D
  23. Just got done looking at Greentops web site and it seems they are going to have a store coming to us online!!!!!!! I'm freakin out!!!!
  24. Dan, Im on it. Guys thanks for the opinions/input. It is what I wanted to here.
  25. No offense intended but, what feels good to you based on comparing other factory set ups is very different than someone with medical issues needing balance to aid an injury... I'd bet money that what you call well balanced is actually tip heavy if you weighed it on a scale, unless you hold in front of the reels center line, which very few people do. this topic is purely subjective if we don't define balance and the balance point. Interesting!! KEEP EM COMING
