Looks like people are taking things out of text......I know Trevor and I know how he says things. So, some people need to set the purse down and toughen up a little and others buy a new/better scale!

I came across a article about this years ago, since putting the info to use I loose a lot less fish. Use a 7ft or longer med/hvy or hvy with a really fast tip. Set the hook hard and apply a lot of pressure during the fight, with a jig set up this should be easy. Also when jig fishing I crank the drag way down and keep lots of pressure on the fish. They seem to throw the hook on a head shake, so if you apply pressure they don't seem to shake as much. The article was by Rick Clunn.

Doh, sounds like it was a nice place to fish! Luckily this is one big public park so we're safe from getting shooed away =D Now we just have to be careful of getting shot or mugged.... Sounds like a real nice place to fish........where is it, in front of a biker bar????

I have had problems with my right elbow/forearm for years now. Because I am a mechanic, I can't seem to follow doctors orders so........I need rods that are not tip heavy and perform as good or better than expected. So far only Kistler LTA's and Carrot Stix fit the bill, but like most of us with a "monkey" thats just not enough. So I am looking at the 703C, which seems like a great all around rod. Any input on Powells would be great.

I use to fish a place in Reston that was full of 3-4 pound bass until the police explained to me that even though no signs are posted it is private property. So be really careful!!!

Greentop is geared more for the seriuos angler. BPS and Gander Mountian have to much junk/bling that has zero appeal to me. I don't need "real tree slippers and a fleece bath robe" to buy tackle ;D. I will drive past Gander Mountian and Bass Pro just to go to Greentop..........If it came down to one Tackle shop, Greentop is the one.
