Wondering if anyone went to the Tinley Park show I referenced above? If anyone did I was wondering your thoughts. I went yesterday and I was a bit disappointed, although it’s been many years since I went I felt there weren’t as many vendors as there could have been and certainly no real show specials. I did take a few business cards but didn’t purchase anything as again I felt nothing really stood out. I was also a bit disappointed to only see 1 boat vendor, although I don’t own a boat or plan on purchasing one I know in the past they were more prominently on display. Lastly with the popularity of canoe and kayak fishing I was extremely disappointed to see only one (hybrid) at that on display. I will try to post a photo of said hybrid in the boat section.

It’s not a popular choice and it’s made in China but I have 2 Piscifun Carbon X 1000 reels that I love. $59.99 on Amazon currently.

My wife did one of these tests on one of our beloved rescue’s, it’s pretty cool to see the mixture. And I couldn’t agree with @Mike L more, nothing but shelter/throwaway’s for my wife and I from these 2 going forward?

If you’re hell bent on staying around $50.00 for the combo bps has one available. Although I would choose something better, you’re definitely looking at a pre matched combo which are mostly from your bigger retailers i:e bass pro shop, dicks sporting goods or academy.

@MiceNReets I was gifted a Okuma TCS-A 7’-0” med plus for the upcoming season. I know you have/had this rod so my question is what was the reel pairing, line used and your favorite application’s for the combo? I’m planning on pairing it with my Tatula 80 which is spooled with 10 pound Seaguar Basix fluorocarbon.

I’ve picked this mixed 12 pack up in the past, I somehow remember them being a little better. Going to have to check the dates on the packaging.

I’m very pleased with the 2 I have (6’-8” UL) & (7’-2” Light). With that said I’m hoping to pick up a St Croix Avid panfish series rod this season. I originally was looking to purchase the St. Croix panfish rods 2 seasons ago but bought the 6’-8” BPS rod instead which I liked enough to pick my 2nd one up last season. I’ve seen 1 reviewer saying he finds it tip heavy but I’ve paired both mine with a Piscifun Carbon X 1000 at 5.7 ounces and love the balance. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another and in fact I am contemplating picking up the 6’-0” UL this upcoming spring sale.

You are lucky and I’m jealous. When I was growing up, I’m 54 next month not only did my parents leave the door unlocked but on more than one occasion they left the front door completely open with only the screen door closed. Nowadays although I no longer live in the neighborhood I grew up in I wouldn’t dare not lock my doors overnight.

@flyfisher I couldn’t agree more Andy Reid has always been a fantastic coach and it just seems his players give above and beyond for him. @Mike L Thank you for knowing who I was referring to I could picture him but couldn’t remember his name ?. I’m not sure if you agree but to me it just felt like he wasn’t all in in the beginning of the season but in the end I feel he could be our next Greg Olsen. By that I mean good size, good hands and can block. I will add I agree but I’m willing to give Eberflus one more shot this upcoming season but I’m not opposed to a mid season firing if they have an able body to step in especially as you’re pointing out with what we’re looking at with the draft position’s and the available cap money.

I agree with you for sure but I will add we really need protection and at least one or 2 decent receivers. Our tight end whose name is escaping me seemed to develop a connection with Fields, at least in my opinion. I think we finally have a coaching staff and management team that seems to be on the same page also. And lastly if we did get Mahomes that year he probably wouldn’t have developed as he did.

Our local sports radio (Waddle & Silvy) we’re talking about how the NFL has made the definition of penalties very difficult to define over the years in order to make the game safer yet causing a lot of confusion which is manifesting itself in the calls/no calls.
