What kind of baits are you using to make it necessary for that type of retrieve? I’m wondering because I only use braid for Arigs and spinnerbaits with bait casters and they provide enough drag to keep tension on the line.

I keep 2 mh and 2 h jig rods in the boat all of the time.

I have given up on wild game. Other than quail, I don’t like it any more and believe me I have tried. Just give me a corn fed Kansas City strip or a fillet and I am good.

I carry at least 20 setups in my boat. Not one of them is as specific as your list. Except for my Arig setups all of them see at least double duty. Even my Neds double for sliders and bucktail jigs.

I don’t think it is out yet. I only live 9 miles from them and don’t have one.

I really don’t have any old baits or setups. I generally sell mine off and replace them every few years.

Have you ever had to use it in the boat? I have a switch in the boat that allows me to change batteries in an emergency though with the X2 battery I have never needed it.

When would I choose Shaky over Texas Rig, almost all of the time. I get way more bites and catch more on Shaky than TR. However I don’t fish the same kind of baits on shaky that I do on TR. For example, I would never fish a craw on a shaky jig.

There are definitely differences. I own 3 different kinds. I don’t sell so I may not be as particular as some guys. What I use most comes from Harbor Freight.

I have one of my 70s set up as a dedicated Ned rig. I used 6# fluorocarbon until last fall when I switched to Yozuri hybrid 6#. I have different setups for those other baits you mentioned.

I use 8/1 for vertical jigging because of the feel over other lines. Vegetation is not a concern for me as we don’t have any.

I know some motor cycle guys who swear by them.

If I’m making a fluffy collar finesse jig I spend some time trimming it, otherwise it’s snip snip done.
