  1. 007John there are too many unknowns for me to give any reasonable answer. For example, where are you, what size water will you be on, what species will you be pursuing, what is your budget, and what about your size and the size of guests. All of those factor into the equation. Provide some of that information and you can get better recommendations. The main thing is that you and your guests be safe in tour boat.

When we built our house I designed the garage with a bait making area and a built in floor to ceiling cabinet for storage. I also had the garage walls and the ceiling insulated so it rarely gets below 55° in there. My stuff is handy and only takes a couple of minutes to setup whether it be pouring lead or plastic. I make stuff all year long as I need it to keep the bait boxes stocked which is normally a time or two each week.
  3. Tubes will catch about anything that swims. I have caught lots of largemouth on them. However, it has been my experience that overall the size of the fish will be smaller if you use tubes instead of jigs.
  4. For those of you who have a version of live view and have a mount separate from the trolling motor what are you using, what type of boat and how do you like it? Any pics or videos would be great.
  5. Would the War Eagle Firecracker be close enough for you. I have found it to be a great clear water sunny day spinnerbait.
  6. I used to paint them but never had much success keeping it on. I’ve had better luck with tape. These blades are covered with duct tape.
  7. The lake I fish was clear cut before impounded. There is no vegetation and very few targets along with clear water. Also basically no docks or lakeside resorts.
  8. Those are not what I would want for covering water. For just fishing I will take shaky most of the time.
  9. I have found that some days there is nothing better. I now carry more TRDs and Ned setups than anything else.
  10. I have at least a half dozen of them. I have applications for short limber rods that they no longer make so I have switched to Bionic Blades which are inferior.
  11. You will have to go through a bunch to have enough to pour many baits of the same color. You also need to be careful of what you mix. Do not mix in any elaztech baits. If you want to come out ahead you probably should get open pour molds, if not you will have a considerable start up cost.
  12. It can be bad stuff. Table Rock largemouth became infected with viral hemorrhagic septicemia and was nearly wiped out. It had little effect on smallmouth and spots. Both of their populations exploded. It took several years for the lmb to bounce back.
  13. I’d go with small Colorado as the inside and a willow, maybe hammered silver blades.
  14. Now you can make it 2. I just don’t like Costner even back to Silverado.
  15. EnerSys Energy Products bought them out a year or so ago. Odyssey is their big product.
  16. That’s not enough information.
  17. How they will be used makes a difference in what I would recommend. I don’t look at amp hour with AGMs. If it is for cranking then I want cold cranking amps, cca. If it is for a trolling motor then I want high reserve capacity, rc. I don’t know which are the best because I don’t have the knowledge base to answer that question. I am using the Batteries + X2 with 1150 cca and Pro Guide 245 rc and am very satisfied.
  18. Thanks for the info Allen. I’m not looking to modify another mold. I’ll just wait and see if other hooks become available.
  19. Since you really don’t sound like you want it anyway why go to the trouble to procure it? I’d have to want it real bad to go to that much trouble and expense.
  20. What works best for me is to take 2 acetaminophen 500s before I go to the lake and another 2 more in 6 hours. Otherwise I’ll hurt all day and all night. If it still bothers me I coat it with lidocaine before bed.
  21. You evidently fish the Ned differently than I do. I stay with light heads (1/8) and under, mostly (1/16). I can’t imagine a medium rod working well for me. How do you fish it so that you need that much rod or lots of sensitivity?
  22. There is a place in Springfield MO called Clear Cast that works on electronics.
  23. They are offering a 1000 count so I’m guessing that they have a bunch. There will be 6 of us using out of mine. I hope Victory or some other company comes out with other sizes of hooks. We have a local guy who makes a similar jig, Jades Jigs. I’m using some of his with a 2/0 on baby brush hogs.
  24. Hooks for the weedless Midwest Finess mold. They are back in stock at Barlows. I ordered me 400 last night.
  25. The GLX is stiffer than the IMX therefore it doesn’t cast as far. I’m sure it is a personal thing but it gets fished less than the IMX.
