I’ve probably read thousands of books. As a double major in history and sociology in college I had to read at least 1000 pages for every credit hour. Today I read from 2 to 4 books every week. The only book that has had any permanent impact on me is the King James version of the bible.

If you want premade jig heads you might start with guys on this site like cadman, smalljaw, munkin, or seibert. For hooks if I want less than 1000 I order from Captain Hooks. If I need at least 1000 of something I order from Shorty’s Hook Sales. Skirt material I get from fishing skirts or living rubber.

Me too. When our Lew’s store closed I bought out their entire stock of Elaztech worms. There were about a dozen watermelon candy packs that I found when I was sorting them. I wondered if anything would bite them. They do.

You could call Humminbird tech support and ask them.

You will need to have a Humminbird unit which can display the mega image so you can connect the sonar cable to it.

I normally travel less than 100 miles to a lake so I don’t figure my spare needs to be as good as the others so I don’t replace it as often.

People who are full time rvrs or do serious camping never let tires, no matter the wear or amount of sunlight, be more than 6 years old. I’ve replaced 5th wheeler tires that had less than 5000 miles on them before the were 7 years old. In the scheme of things trailer tires are about the cheapest items on a boat rig.

Bar bait to kill them.

Good luck. I hope you catch a bunch. I’m not familiar with your lake. If it has clear water you will catch more on 6# fluorocarbon whether you go straight or as a leader.

Five years is as long as I would want to leave tires on a boat trailer. I’d be replacing them. You might to have your axle checked because of your wear pattern. Our crooked, hilly, narrow roads eat the outside pair on my trailer after 3 years. After 5 the inside pair get replaced. I’d rather spend some money for tires than have a blowout and maybe an accident to go with it. When you purchase be sure to get trailer tires and not car tires. They will have stronger sidewalls and are better suited for trailers.

I fish Ned a lot, enough that I have 5 setups dedicated to Ned rigs. IMO the rod length is not nearly as important stiffness. All of mine are ML and under 7’. The spinning setups are on 1000 and 2000 size reels. There are 2 factors that are more important than the rod and reel, line type and size and jig head weight. Around here 6# fluorocarbon line will bring mono and braid guys to their knees no matter if they are fishing in the front or back of the boat. The jig head weight has a lot to do with productivity. I make my own and carry several sizes. By far the 1/16 oz out produces the other sizes. The old standby TRD has been my best bait. I have 22 colors and have caught fish on 20 of them.

007John there are too many unknowns for me to give any reasonable answer. For example, where are you, what size water will you be on, what species will you be pursuing, what is your budget, and what about your size and the size of guests. All of those factor into the equation. Provide some of that information and you can get better recommendations. The main thing is that you and your guests be safe in tour boat.

When we built our house I designed the garage with a bait making area and a built in floor to ceiling cabinet for storage. I also had the garage walls and the ceiling insulated so it rarely gets below 55° in there. My stuff is handy and only takes a couple of minutes to setup whether it be pouring lead or plastic. I make stuff all year long as I need it to keep the bait boxes stocked which is normally a time or two each week.

Tubes will catch about anything that swims. I have caught lots of largemouth on them. However, it has been my experience that overall the size of the fish will be smaller if you use tubes instead of jigs.

For those of you who have a version of live view and have a mount separate from the trolling motor what are you using, what type of boat and how do you like it? Any pics or videos would be great.

Would the War Eagle Firecracker be close enough for you. I have found it to be a great clear water sunny day spinnerbait.

I used to paint them but never had much success keeping it on. I’ve had better luck with tape. These blades are covered with duct tape.

The lake I fish was clear cut before impounded. There is no vegetation and very few targets along with clear water. Also basically no docks or lakeside resorts.

Those are not what I would want for covering water. For just fishing I will take shaky most of the time.

I have found that some days there is nothing better. I now carry more TRDs and Ned setups than anything else.

I have at least a half dozen of them. I have applications for short limber rods that they no longer make so I have switched to Bionic Blades which are inferior.

You will have to go through a bunch to have enough to pour many baits of the same color. You also need to be careful of what you mix. Do not mix in any elaztech baits. If you want to come out ahead you probably should get open pour molds, if not you will have a considerable start up cost.
