Painting jigging spoons
Thanks. I don’t have any on hand but can pick some up. These spoons are not going to be used soon. They are replacements for when I need them and we are in the midst of a cold snap.

Painting jigging spoons
I doubt that the chrome spray could stand the heat and I don’t have any clear powder to try your idea.

Painting jigging spoons
My babbitt spoon box is starting to run low and I don’t have any more. It is just about spooning time so I poured up 30 hard lead blanks this morning. I want to keep 20 of them from tarnishing so I sprayed one with clear and one with chrome (rattle can). The chrome looked better. I know the paint won’t stay on long but the spoons have a short lifespan anyway. Will it be any benefit for me to do a clear coat over the chrome?

UPGRADING ELECTRONICS, BUT WANTING TO GET SOMETHING FOR WHAT I HAVE .
I have been in the same situation as you are in. Don’t expect to get much for your electronics because they are probably several generations old by now. I have sold some sonar units here on the flea market and other fishing and boating forums. Facebook market place might work for you.

Can you tie an FG Knot?
Crow Horse I carried my kit until I figured out that it never broke at the knot. Then I left it at home. I was using 15# braid to 10 and 12# leaders.

Jigging raps…
We have been catching shallow fish for several weeks but the weather has changed. We are in a cold period that looks like it will last a couple of weeks. The water temperature is sure to drop and I am expecting the fish to move deeper. Getting ready fot that i am going through my jigging spoons and assembling some knockoff jigging raps. The will be used in rocky and ledgy areas. My question is for those of you who fish them do you cut off either or both of the end hooks or just leave them on.

Can you tie an FG Knot?
- Can you tie an FG Knot?
Uni to uni, Albright, Alberto and several others mostly broke at the knot. I got tired of this and started on the fg. As I looked around and watched videos, I realized that I needed the tool. It helped a bunch. As I tied them I kept needing another tool for cutting etc so I made myself a kit. I’ve never had an fg knot fail.- Curado bfs spool in curado 71 hg?
I’ve been using Curado 70 reels for Ned rigs for several years. I decided to try a Curado bfs reel just to see the difference. Now I have 4 of them.- Ned Rig
- Ned Rig
- Making fuzzy-style baits out of pieces of used plastics?
Yes I have. It’s pretty easy to do. My problem (even when I am catching fish) is getting anything to bite them.- Split or full grip
I am a full grip person. I don’t like split grips at all. My fishing partner is just the opposite. To each his own.- Fishing mid depth rock must have
Well that is what I am fishing and have been for the last couple of months. Baits that I have tried: Keitech swim baits, worms of various colors, crank baits, jigs mostly 3/16 that I make in several colors and Ned rigs. Results: Keitechs…an occasional fish Worms…earlier pretty good Crank baits…0 Jigs…pretty good until lately Ned rigs…all that I can get a bite on lately. The last time out I used most of what I listed. The only fish came on the Ned. I used 3 different weights 1/16, 3/32, and 1/8 depending on the depth and amount of wind. I caught 18 bass mostly largemouth with 5 keepers. I fish 7 different rocky areas and plan to keep throwing the Ned.- Storage In garage
Every boat that I have had gave off a gas smell in the garage. As long as I keep the bilge area lid open I never notice it. So I open it as soon as the boat goes in the garage and leave it open until I go fishing again.- Best way to record Waypoints?
I am hesitant to offer suggestions since my Humminbirds are not the same generation as yours and they may have changed the procedure. If you have the manual you can get the information that you need by looking in the waypoint management section. If you don’t have a manual you can download it. One of the first things I did when I bought mine was dowload the manual, save it to an sd card, take it to a printer and have it printed and bound. I carry it in my boat so I can reference things which I have forgotten.- Best way to record Waypoints?
What brand of sonar are you using??- 2007 tracker 170 tx for $5250. Yay or nay?
That price is on the high end for that model and age of boat. You could be looking at a cylinder issue. I for sure would have a compression test run before I let go of any money. I bought a Tracker with a 40 which was supposed to have no issues. Within a month or so one of the cylinders shot craps.- Best way to record Waypoints?
Is the brand on sonars the same in the two boats?- Table Rock tips and tricks needed
That’s a long way in the future to try to predict what will be happening down there. If you haven’t already scheduled your trip you might want to look at the tournament schedule and avoid times that have large tournaments. https://www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov/WP04Web/app/searchRegattaWeb?action=Search+Again You can follow some of the guides who regularly make reports. Pete Wenners typically makes a weekly report. I hope you have a memorable experience.- First fish of 2026 thread
I don’t have any pics. I went yesterday and caught 18 lmb and smb on Ned rig. They were from 3-6’ deep in 46° water.- Re-Covering a Worn Steering Wheel Cover
Have you considered buying a leather one that you stitch on yourself? Amazon has them. Another thought is gaffers tape. I keep some of it around all the time. https://aboveavl.com/products/black-gaff-tape-55-yard-1 - Can you tie an FG Knot?
