  1. Check the factory recommendation about running on full power. MK says it is unwise to operate my 36 v 112# thrust Ulterra for very long at full power. So I use 8 when moving any distance. If that’s the case with the one you plan to get I think I would spring for the most thrust in the designated voltage and budget. If you can’t find it in a manual download, you can always call a factory customer service tech and ask.
  2. I don’t pay any attention to what the reel line and capacity is. I just decide what line I want to use and fill the spool to the level I want.
  3. I’ve never found bait balls to make any difference. The ones I see aren’t close to where I am fishing. I choose my starting spot based on history. I have 28 years of systematic recording my trips on excell. I look at them checking what I consider to be pertinent information and choose a starting spot and bait.
  4. If you go medium don’t go St Croix. I bought the medium and anything lighter than 1/8 didn’t work so I got rid of it and went ml.
  5. I have plenty going on in my head. I don’t even use the radio in the truck.
  6. I have a setup that I use for light to moderate fishing. It is a St Croix Premier 7’ medium light rod with a Shimano Stradic 2500 reel. If you get something similar I think you will be fine.
  7. KVD line treatment helps. I don’t know if stretching helps or hurts. My line gets stretched a lot because where I fish break offs are frequent. For convenience and economy I buy my line in 1000 yd spools.
  8. If you want the weight a group 31 agm will give you around 60 pounds. Sam’s club usually has decent prices. With electric power only you need to look for high reserve capacity (rc). I have agms for cranking and trolling motor and a lithium for electronics. I have Hummingbird Solix units and they draw so much that they would kill a 31 agm grave yard dead in 11 months. After 3 in a row the distributor manager said, “This is your last warranty replacement.” Don’t come back. So when it died I replaced it with a 100 ah lithium and a single bank charger. It’s been going great for over 2 years.
  9. Is the trolling motor going to be your only source of propulsion or will you run the gas motor also?
  10. I’d call the Branson Chamber of Commerce and or visitor’s bureau and see if they can help. Big Cedar Lodge probably has hookups.
  11. Now you will casting in instead of out. Congrats.
  12. Pm me your info and I will get them in the mail. So far all I can come up with is one of my old fishing buddies made all kinds of do dads for Stacey King. I’m thinking it was one of those brain storms and he proudly gave me some but I still haven’t figured out a way to use them.
  13. What area are you wanting to be on, Branson, Indian Point, Kimberling City, Shell Knob?
  14. You want to try them? I’ll send you some.
  15. Parasite clip That’s the quandary. I can’t imagine ordering only 8 of anything.
  16. I thought that since they were in with parasite clips they have something to do with Texas rigging plastics but I can’t see any way to use them.
  17. They are stainless in those shapes. I can’t imagine why I have a half dozen of them.
  18. Nope. I have Shimano DCs and don’t need more.
  19. I found them in the bottom of a container along with some parasite clips. I don’t remember making them or buying them. I can’t figure out what they are used for.
  20. I can’t really give you advice on that size body of water since where I fish ranges from 17,000 to 50,000 acres with from a few hundred to 1,000 miles of shoreline. My advice is on the bait. Use the baits that you have the most confidence in when you start on new water.
  21. I fish from a bass boat. I like to cover water so I normally have the trolling motor turned on. I like to keep the boat moving at .3 to .5 of a mile per hour with a heading providing direction. When I find a fishy area I stop the trolling motor and work it over with or without spot lock depending on conditions.
  22. I count each as a half wrap and do 16 which to some would be 32. With 15# braid to 10# fluorocarbon leader I never have had a break off at the knot and where I fish there are numerous break offs daily.
  23. When I used screw locks with pte baits I heated a small drill bit and melted a hole in the end. That made the screw lock easy to use.
  24. What size are you wanting to use? Do you think something like this would work?
  25. We used to do that when floating a river. Around here it is called doodle sockin.
