  1. What size are you wanting to use? Do you think something like this would work?
  2. We used to do that when floating a river. Around here it is called doodle sockin.
  3. When I had dogs I never washed their bowl because it was a 120 gallon stock tank with a float. They could always get a drink any time they wanted. They also had access to food 24/7 as their food dispenser held 50#.
  4. I don’t use one but my fishing buddy makes fountain pens, ball point pens and knives from exotic woods.
  5. My wife made me this tool holder. It fits just below my knee.
  6. It didn’t keep me off the water but it did cause me to quit floating and buy my first fiberglass glitter sled.
  7. In my younger days we did a lot of float fishing. During a March trip in a jon boat my partner and I were crossing a partially submerged tree. We we were experienced floaters and knew how to approach it. This was one of those best laid plans thing. We slowed the boat and made a controlled approach. Just as we got into position the bow was jerked towards a whirl pool. The boat stood on end and went under the tree. We both jumped and grabbed a limb. The current was trying to take us under. I some how had a spinner bait hooked to the back of my shirt. The rod was below me adding to the current pull. I was having trouble hanging on with no way to pull out so I turned to my friend and said if, “ I don’t make it. It’s been nice knowing you”, and turned loose. I was sucked under the tree and popped up just like the jon boat had. All I got back was that rod and spinner bait. My buddy turned loose and popped up like I did. He saved no gear.
  8. I might be talked into sending you some buck tail. Here..
  9. I had a few C notes saved back. I got the flyer today and never found a thing that I wanted.
  10. The first things I had replaced were the bunks. Check them often while the boat is off the trailer. Keep the grease zerks in the tongue lubed otherwise it will slap on starts and stops. Check your vortex hubs on a regular basis. Keep your tires at the proper inflation. It is probably getting close to time for the springs to be replaced. Rotate your tires 2 times yearly. Check your fenders they wear and become loose. Mine is going on 10 and I have spent a lot of money on it keeping things good.
  11. I also have a Nitro Z20. I don’t do my own work but I can tell you what has gone wrong with my trailer and what to watch for. What year is your trailer?
  12. When we did a lot of camping we spent from April 13-May 14 on Stockton Lake. I always carried tying supplies in the camper that way I didn’t have to stock a bunch of colors and sizes. Like cadman said I won’t take fishing time to make jigs. You will only know if it works for you if you try it.
  13. I’m betting that Glenn will be there. If not I am sure he could give you some pointers. Have fun.
  14. I fish from 1/16 to 3/16. Today the 3/32 worked best.
  15. They make the X2 which batteries + carries.
  16. North Star a division of EnerSys is made in Springfield MO.
  17. I’m not sure anymore. When I was in the business we did test drives on boats often but that was a long time ago.
  18. You might pick a few brands and go to their web sites and have a look at the different models and options.
  19. I’ve had a lot of brands of batteries. Interstates have not been reliable lately. Reverve capacity is something to look for the higher the number the longer you can stay out with power.
  20. Not just now. I’ve been pouring them for a long time. I have about run out of the babbitt ones and have switched to hard lead.
  21. 100 red treble hooks and a bunch of #8 split rings for the spoons that I made.
  22. I sell one from time to time. My thing is the extra Shimano reels that I have and don’t use anymore.
  23. Those batteries don’t owe you anything if they’ve been used that long.
  24. Finches, cardinals, juncos and sparrows are mostly what we see.
