  1. I’m a Shimano fan and used to sell my bait casters every time they introduced a new model. That was until the Curado E came along. Those were the first ones that I didn’t need to super tune. I have kept all of them and use some of them every trip.
  2. I do this at the bench. Lighters haven’t worked well for me. I have scissors like AJs but when I cut the braid I get frizzies on the tag and with my ADDHS OCD it drives me nuts.
  3. Sorry. It’s 832 and I was trying to burn it next to the Rizzuto finish on my fg knot.
  4. I recently got some for a Ned application. I tied a leader with the fg knot and I couldn’t get my Berkley hot knife to burn through it. It would burn most but not all the way through. I had to cut it with scissors . What’s in that stuff that won’t burn?
  5. Go for it. When I deer hunted I had a grinder and slicer. When I stopped hunting I gave them to my grandson. He his wife and his dad hunt so the stuff is getting plenty of use.
  6. That is the Catalog Outlet store. They do have some good overstock prices but it used to be better than it is now.
  7. Your loss.
  8. Samaje Perine…my hero
  9. Mine came. I may look at it if we get snowed in. They aren’t competitive on lots of stuff and their name brand sales are usually regular price unless it is a model close out.
  10. Yes today is Saturday and the snow has melted. It is supposed to be in the upper 40s today. I got the boat ready yesterday and will be pulling out for Table Rock at sunup. I’m planning to target spotted bass on gravel points and humps with swimbaits.
  11. When you get moved let us know where you are going to live. That way I can get you to the best launch areas.
  12. I’m a big fan of Elaztech, mostly, TRDs and Zinkerzs.
  13. Stockton and Pomme de Terre are both north of Springfield and a lot smaller than Table Rock. Stockton is my favorite. Stockton has lmb, smb, and spots as well as walleye. Pomme de Terre has lmb, spots, and a few smb up in the rivers. It has a few walleye and has musky.
  14. Nope. I generally use 6-8 different setups each trip. Whatever works best that day get used the most.
  15. I am kind of in the middle not really north or south. I planned for this kind of weather when we built our house. I had the garage walls insulated and the garage ceiling heavily insulated. It doesn’t get below the mid 50s out there. We’ve been from 1-15° for the last several days. I’ve been pouring and painting Ned jig heads. It is supposed to be in the 40s by Saturday so I am getting the boat ready.
  16. For me it’s because of the Elaztech TRDs that I use. A drop of superglue gel keeps them attached to the jig head.
  17. If you haven’t watched Duke, it will be worth your time to see Cooper Flagg. He is a special barely 18 year old.
  18. I guess I am fortunate in where I fish. The parking lots and ramps are never littered.
  19. If I were in the far north I would probably wait and see.
  20. The hookup is as good as it was with the other heads. I am using 15# braid to 8# fluorocarbon leader.
  21. I’ve gone to that type of head also. I switched after loosing 15 Neds in Piney creek one morning. After I got the new mold I went back and fished the same water and only lost 2.
  22. My favorite is the Midwest Finesse head. I carry it in 5 sizes with #2, 1, and 1/0 hooks from various companies. What size head and hook do you like?
  23. I don’t think about missed big fish anymore because there are hundreds of tournaments on Table Rock with as many as 500 boats in them. Fish over 4# have become a rare thing. I can’t remember the last time I had a good fish on down there.
  24. By its purest definition I guess I do troll. I rarely stop my boat unless fish are congregated. I keep it moving from .3 to .5 mph. As I work the bait back I usually let it get behind the boat for a while in case I am not fishing deep enough, especially with jigs and Neds. I think of this as dragging instead of trolling.
