@Mike L She had a flush done 6 months ago, it wasn't necessary. Plus today's antifreeze much like motor oil is significantly better than yesteryear. My owners manual on my truck claims a flush at 100k.
  2. You've never heard of Allen Iverson ?
  3. AI was one of my favorite basketball players 😎
  4. Wacky is dynamite around here in the clear water. I like throwing it on the steep banks and grass edge with 90% of the hits happening on the fall. My preferred gear: 6'10 MF rod with 1/16 VMC weedless wacky head using a crossover ring. 15 lb braid to 8lb flouro leader. It's a very dependable technique for catching bass.

It's obvious that we have no mechanics attending 😁. Yes a flush would include water while the engine is running to keep the thermostat open. A sudden release of fluid at its lowest point would not warrant an additional flush for $200. Imo
  6. I have a love/hate relationship with Elaztech. The stuff is crazy durable and the best material I've found for Neds and Neko, stands up better than anything I've tried. Trying to get it perfectly straight and readjusting on the boat is somewhat of a problem though along with bunching on a T-rig. Harder things in life I'm sure.
  7. @A-Jay That's a ridiculously superior and informative post.

My wife said the same thing, that I'm living to far in past. 😳 My dishonesty claim was the unessarry radiator flush that was already completed by hose failure, block and radiator emptied itself.
  9. My oldest daughter ( 32 ) lives in the city and called today with car trouble as she always has. She claimed to see steam while smelling antifreeze. Told her likely a busted hose that she needs to have it towed to her auto repair shop. She calls back, yep busted lower radiator hose $ 280 for repair and an additional $ 200 for a radiator flush. 😳 I keep my composure and call the shop and ask them how they go about doing a radiator flush ❓ They replied by removing the lower radiator hose and let the thermostat cycle. I said thankyou that's how I do it as well so can you kindly remove that procedure off of my daughter's ticket because that part has already been completed by hose failure....... unbelievable how these places take advantage of young women. $280 is insane for lower hose replacement to boot.
  10. Good post and I agree.
  11. I don't know all the logistics and nuances of how to frighten a fish and keep them from biting but do know highly pressured water is definitely one. We have this one particular lake that is located close to suburbs with no other lakes close by that gets absolutely hammered, 117 acre lake that could see up to 50 bass boats on a busy day. It's nickname is well known around here as " one fish Frederick " . If you catch 2 you instantly become a local legend and may even get harassed for information.
  12. I didn't start becoming fond of the bladed jig until last year when I started fishing them deeper and moving up in weight. Always fished them like a spinnerbait higher in the water column and they couldn't compete with a spinnerbait. Once I let them fall deeper with a slower cadence and around structure they've held their own. I'm still a rookie with these baits but caught fish with these colors with Zako trailer.
  13. I'm starting to think that these people that get offended or feel that hooking a fish is cruel, That they actually took up fishing and some point and couldn't catch a cold. 😁
  14. The spinnerbait being 2nd tier is troubling. If you have any submerged lay downs or wood in general, hard to beat a spinnerbait. Most of your " no confidence baits " I agree with except swim jig.
  15. Sorry to hear that. Hope her pain subsides quickly. 🙏
  16. Learned from this site a couple of years ago......the Mojo rig. It catches fish and no bother with swivels, Just peg a 1/8 tungsten.
  17. True story. Wife and I were camping on a lake and met a nice couple camping beside us. They came over and sat around the fire and we talked. Wife and I were discussing our cow that we were going to butcher once we returned from our trip. To my surprise this older gentleman stood up and said he'd rather not discuss anything to do with cruelty to animals. We changed the subject and all went well. He invited us over for breakfast and as I was standing beside him as he was frying bacon and sausage, A small limb fell from above and landed directly into the frying pan, limb was full of caterpillars 😳. I looked at him with an Eastwood grin as he was cussing and said " Frying up live caterpillars in bacon grease is cruelty at the next level " So my answer as to how to deal with those types of people ❓ With sarcasm 😁
  18. I'm OCD when it comes to soft jerkbaits, love them. First and foremost they must be hooked perfectly straight for the right action, no twisting. I've got Zoom flukes, Bass assassin, whiplash, Keitech, D-shad and 6th sense flush. All said and done like D-shad and Bass assassin best for the action I'm looking for. Prefer spinning due to the fact they skip so well, med action XF is personal. 15# braid to 12# Sunline sniper flouro. 4.0 Gamy EWG for weedless. Never break on a hookset, knot maybe ❓
  19. Sorry to hear of this lost. It devastates me for quite a while after losing a 4 legged friend.
  20. Welcome to the site 👍
  21. I'm trying to grasp how you pull towards something ❓ Nonetheless, keep the rod loaded and drag set properly when fighting a fish. From a boat, I'll stick the rod tip into water to mitigate jumping. Jumping fish are crafty at throwing the hook.
  22. I heard that the bait monkey 🐒 is in a deep state of depression...... perhaps even suicidal. 😁
  23. Was always under the impression that fish like trout and bass don't require bleeding, so minimal. I've always did the bonk or brain spike. Big fish species, Yes.
  24. When fishing slower baits like soft plastics, I feel something or see the line moving, always say " here we go " . Moving baits like spinnerbaits, don't have time to say anything, they just pound it.
