Braid for Spinnerbaits/Buzzbaits?
This may not apply to everyone but something I've experienced. I throw mainly 3/8 - 1/4 spinnerbaits on straight 20# braid, casting gear. 3 years ago I bought a dedicated MH-F rod just for this purpose. First trip out with new rod I proceeded to lose fish after fish especially the jumpers. Went back to the Med Moderate rod and once again enjoyed the high hookup ratio. When dealing with catches high in the water column where jumping and dancing are common, no stretch line and stiff rod leads to lost fish. Imho

One word of advice that changed your fishing career
Finesse fishing won't compromise masculinity 😅

First time this has ever happened to me....
When I'm fishing bargain baits I always target smaller fish 😂. Sorry just picking. Wish you better a outcome with upgraded components 👍

Grass mat at the ramp.
So launched the boat this morning in a small 50 acre lake in WV, very windy. Apon return I noticed an entire grass mat came loose and had the single ramp covered. Well, had to get the boat. It was like dragging an entire rain Forrest out of the lake. Wish I'd taken a picture before yanking all this junk off the boat trailer. Plan on fishing next week and will scrub the bunks.

Road To The Superbowl 2025
It's hard to think that the Patriots are the worst team in the NFL, possibly so. Just lost at home to an injury riddled Dolphins. Cleveland vs New England would be a classic pillow fight 😅

WD-40 on lures?
I actually brought up a thread about WD-40 few years back. Knew an ole timer that sweared by it.....and tobacco juice. 😂 Idk, coffee, anise all make the same claims.

Overpopulated lake?
I'd say it's overpopulated. We have a lake that is immediate release on LMB and has been that way for years. We catch nothing but 12" - 15" bass in abundance. Many years ago they stocked this lake with Musky...... hasn't helped yet

Road To The Superbowl 2025
I don't think Rodgers has played well but of course it's not his fault. 😁

Leader to braid knots vs. backlashes
With casting gear I use a leader for all baits with treble hooks to mitigate line wrap...... Devil's Horse being worse case scenario on front prop. Use nothing but Alberto with no issues at all. 20# braid to 12# flouro.

Should I be upset?
5500 RPMs under load is fine but I personally wouldn't advise floating an engine to that, not for long anyway. Yes I'd be upset, seems crazy that the shop evaluates an engine this way.

Baltimore vs Cincinnati was the best game of the year so far.

Chainsaw
@TnRiver46 Ha Ha, no never had trouble with any of my Stihl's. I said you can't go wrong with Stihl but for the money it's hard to beat Echo. My brother has a sawmill and uses nothing but Stihl pro saws.

Road To The Superbowl 2025
From a statistical standpoint the picture becomes a little gloomy regarding Cousins. 16 - 47 against teams above 500. 😳

How important is your line?
Started out with Stren, used that for years then Berkeley Vanish. 😳 Had no idea how line deprived I was until advancements in line technology....... braids and fluorocarbon were game changers.

Chainsaw
It's that time of year. I really enjoy cutting firewood and messing with chainsaws. Dropped a large Oak last week that was full of those huge Asian hornets. 😳 Think I'll wait till it gets cold before blocking it up. 😅

Ned/Neko/Wacky
Yes the flick shake 4.8 is mainly what I throw GPC. VMC crossover rings in .003 will allow a single worm to last hours, not kidding. Oh, the reason I prefer the 1/16 head is once the Senkos and Zman Zinkerz lose all their salt, they float on the surface.
-
Ned/Neko/Wacky
I throw the wacky rig more than any other technique here in clear water. 1/16 VMC head with single wire guard, skipped under docks, steep banks, grass edges and around cover. I do throw Ned and drop-shot also but much prefer wacky.

Who Throws White Jigs in Fall?
Well, I'm open minded and will give it a try next time out.
