For the Bank fisherman: What "pushes" your buttons while fishing?
Garbage left by fishermen. 95% of fishermen are slobs. Catfishermen are the worst.

Your favorite bluegill lure?
One nephew and myself caught about a dozen gills this evening on rooster tails and jigs with curly tails. We are gonna have to go get some down sized tackle. Crappie size jigs are way to big for these stunted thousands of bluegill. He bought 100 bass fingerlings and 25 catfish and added to his acre pond this week. In a few year we will have some fun with those bass.

Summer Wading
The paint job of the AC Shiner is different on some patterns but other than that it is your typical balsa minnow and just personal choice that I use them. My fishing mentor did and I do out of sentiment I suppose. I do love the rapalas, bang o's and Bombers too. Those 3 lures have also caught in that same creek.

Summer Wading
Here's a story for you Mobasser. I was wading a section of stream I frequented often and was near the bank going to the next pothole Of water when I looked down in the silty bottom and saw something brick shaped but slightly larger. It was buried with only the shape noticeable. It was a double sided Plano box with a dog snap attached to wear it on your belt loop while wading. It had been there a year or more, I do not know how to judge it, the box looks very old and worn on the outside. Opening it up it contained 4 AC shiners. 4 Rebel crawdads, some soft plastic hellgrammites, a few blue fox spinning lures, several bitsy size cranks. It was truly a wade fishermans artifact. The box when opened was caked in silt and mud but I managed to clean and save every piece and have kept it unused and as a keepsake.

Summer Wading
I have always been a creek wading fisherman. Smallmouth is my fish. Up to neck deep water and sometimes a swim even. My reel is a 40-50 year old Garcia Mitchell 308 on a 5'6" shimano ul rod. 6 or 8# line. My lures of most success are the AC Shiner 250, Rebel Crickethopper, and the deadly Nedley. My biggest Smallmouth so far has been 20" in the creek. Best day was an early October morning when I caught 27 in less than 2 hours on the Crickethopper. That was probably a dozen years ago.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Jackall Pompadour, I bought it today as it has an exact match to the Little/Allen frog color. Hooks are not sticky sharp. Disappointed in that I pay $21.50 and hooks not sticky. But that extra bright chartruese belly may make it worthwhile! whats everyone's opinion on the hooks? Do you change and add split ring on rear @Bluebasser86 ? Thanks.

suspending vs. slow-rise jerkbaits
Those Long A's come in suspending models too. I have 2-3 dozen of them. Everything in the water hits them! Like you, I have used the rising models post spawn and always caught lots of fish without any pause at all just erratic jerking motions.

Bear Encounters While Fishing
If that had been me, Mr. Bear would have smelled something bad too and instead of lures I'd been adding new pack of boxers to the bait monkey list.

A Slap in the Face
From now on when you help ppl the first lesson should be you or anyone else can't catch them again if you kill them. Some might listen...

Any interest in trapping?
Me and a buddy participated in trapping this past Winter. Just predator control on our hunting grounds. Ended up with 3 coyotes, couple Bobcats, 3 fox, 5 coons and 2-3 possums. I could really get into it if it was 200 years and I was in a vast wilderness. We both had never trapped though I've had footholds and cage type traps since I was a kid. YouTube was a good teacher. Gonna give beaver, otter and muskrats a try this winter just for the experience.

Happy Fathers Day
It's only my second Father's Day but we had a good one. I bought my daughter a lil pink pole before she was born... Getting closer to her first fish everyday...

Your favorite bluegill lure?
We tried that about a month ago caught nearly 40 in under an hour. Too much work for the hook baiter and fish removing guy lol

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Went to the local shop and bought an A Jay special (scrounger heads and dream shot mags in his color ?) never thought I'd buy a dark sleeper but it happened. My monkey said I'm slacking after he sees Jim Sutters purchases.

YAMAMOTO KREATURE BAIT
Who goes to a yard sale and finds "a bunch" of Yamamoto stuff? They was probably priced dirt cheap too. You're winning!

Your favorite bluegill lure?
Yea they can surprise you at times. Couple weeks ago I had a nice one on a 5" Senko with a 4/0 hook. Not even what I'd call a bull gill but was hand size. This pond is overran with them so they are mostly very small bluegills. I had forgot but I have some of those skinny 3" long trout worms. That'll be fun to try and had forgot about a couple trout magnet kits to play around with too

Lure ID help please!!!
Your lure is a Cotton Cordell Boy Howdy. It is no longer produced in this configuration. Only the double prop model is currently made. However they can still be had on eBay.

Your favorite bluegill lure?
I've been fishing a pond with my nephews at least once a week this year and all they have in it is bluegill. They are stocking bass and catfish next week though but only fingerlings. They are new to fishing and as young teens enjoy the bluegills. We have been using roostertail spinners in 1/16 and 1/8 and catching plenty but would like to mix it u a lil. What is your go to artificiall lure for bluegill?

How Do You Store Your Jerkbaits?
Those Shimano boxes look nice. I was wondering how you @Jim Sutter stored your lures.
