  1. When fishing a new lake my first step is to consult the topo map and see what the bottom looks like contour wise. Then I find a creek that I think will hold fish and then I make an educated guess as to where they will be according to time of year and water temp and then I start one step back from that. If it's cold I start on the main lake ditches outside of the creek. Early prespawn I hit main lake points and the mouth of the drains running in. After that i move my way to the back of the creek paying attention to structure and contour trying to establish a pattern that will put me on fish. With you being in an electric boat you can apply the same approach just make it on a smaller scale. Pick your creek and plan on spending your day in that creek. Really work the areas you think will hold fish and stick to it. Sometimes coming back and making 2 or 3 passes at different times of the day over a spot will produce and give you a ton of info on what the fish are doing. I have a boat but i cut my teeth on a kayak so I am very familiar with your capabilities boat wise.

As far as storage goes, pro tip. Get a waterproof storage container. This one was like 8 bucks at the auto parts store. They are worth it and will prevent your scale from getting moisture in it and failing. You can even go one step further and throw a desiccant pack from a Tylenol bottle or something and add an extra layer of moisture resistance.
  3. I use a double uni but the albright looks simple enough I might be able to tie that. I'm not Merlin the wizard so I won't be using the FG anytime soon.

I use the Bubba scale lite. My wife purchased it for me for valentines day last year. I only have one complaint about it. If you are wearing polarized sunglasses the screen blacks out when you look at it so you have to raise your glasses to see the screen. Other than that I have no problems with it.

I use two brands of hooks. Owner and spearpoint. I know alot of people think spearpoints is a bit gimmicky but I will swear by the Spearpoint finesse hooks. Owner's cutting point hooks are my favorite worm hooks. I have landed more fish on an owner hook with a fluke on it that probably all my baits put together. They stick em good.
  6. I am brand loyal and have been an Abu Garcia guy since I was literally 12 years old and I bought my first Ambassadeur 5000 with money from mowing yards.
  7. I was there yesterday. Steven Boggess(one of your prostaffers at the booth) is a dear friend i met through wounded warrior ptoject. I hadn't seen him in about 3 or 4 years. It was great catching up with him!
  8. Went to the NOE outdoors fishing show in Greenville SC today. Scored a ton of new baits(including an assortment of fuzzy dice baits and some sakamata shads!) but most of all I scored a shiny new Abu REVO BFS reel! I have been wanting to break out into the bfs world and with 20 bucks off the price of the reel I figured why not? I am so excited to try all this new stuff. I also joined the take a warrior fishing team today! I joined as a vet and a host boater! pretty excited about that more than anything! I have come to the determination that my lot in life isn't becoming the next KVD or "local circuit legend" but helping others heal through my passion of fishing and the outdoors. It's been a big day for me!
  9. The old school rattlin rap. This one and the one they discontinued with the orange craw shad pattern.
  10. I managed to get 3 of them in 3 different colors. They were literally saying sold out as I was adding them to cart. I even managed to get a morning dawn one! Pretty excited for this. A 10 dollar bladed jig vs. "the other guys"
  11. I may be the minority here but with Hartwell being my home lake I'm pretty happy that they are coming back in 27! The classic is a great experience and I love going! 😂
  12. Over the years I have figured that the solunar tables really mean something. Early morning majors and afternoon minors can be a good indicator of activity. Now that's not to say they won't bite outside of those windows but it gives a good idea of when you need to be on your "bread and butter" spots that produce fish. Oftentimes that coincides with first light which to be honest is my most favorite time to fish year round because sunrises energize me and really give the day a good start for me especially when its on the water. One thing I have noticed too, I don't know why but during the colder months the sunrise just seems more "vivid"!
  13. Welcome from Northern Kakalaki
  14. I only use a stinger vertically. I fish it mainly on channel swings, vertical banks, and over ditches. I try not to fish cover at all with it. It should also be noted I am no expert with spoons. This is just what I've learned that works for me here on Hartwell which is a herring lake and the bass here act very pelagic even in the winter.
  15. I use a zako but I am starting to incorporate the crush city mooch minnows and freeloaders into my trailer assortment.
  16. When I vertical fish I typically use a spoon and I free rig a number 4 treble on the line in front of the spoon. Just slide the treble on the line in front of the spoon before you tie on your lure. You might hang up more but you miss fewer fish.
  17. I will be there one of the days. I have been to MANY bassmaster events including a few classics. Not sure which one but I will be there. The takeoff is a must see and the expo is a great place to hang out, shop, win free stuff, and meet anglers. The weigh in is always awesome to watch. There's a chance I will have the boat with me and may get on the water just to run around and watch(but that is a pretty big maybe). If you want shoot me a message and maybe we can meet up and have coffee or a bite to eat
  18. Major League Fishing was on Lake Hartwell this weekend, so the wife and I decided to ride down and check out the watch party at Seneca Park. Ended up being a really good time. Met quite a few of the pros, and I even got to rib Jacob Wheeler a little bit. I got in line for a picture, and when I finally got up to him I said, “I saw you online up in my fishing hole catching my fish. I hope you put ’em back.” He cracked up and said, “I promise I put ’em back. They’re still there. They’re not going anywhere.” He’s a good sport. Picked up a Major League Fishing shirt, watched the angler interviews, and hung out for a bit. Overall, a pretty solid little event and worth the trip.
  19. 3 inch Yamamoto Zako The fish in my profile is my pb 7 lbs. 9 ounces and I caught her in a grass bed with a mini max in white with a icicle 3 inch zako on the back.
  20. I tried it. Couldn't figure them out so I gave the two packs I had away at the ramp to somebody
  21. Crankbaits, yes. Spinnerbaits and buzzbaits, no. Sometimes i will bend the wire on a spinnerbait so I can get it to track into a stump or laydown and bounce off of it.
  22. I keep my senkos and would use the remnants as trailers on my ballhead finesse jigs That's about it though. I only use grubs in saltwater. no particlular reason why.
  23. I'm out for Champ Sunday. Well at least I won't have to worry about turning away from Daytona to check on how my anglers are doing. lol
  24. Picasso Rhino Shakey head in 1/4 oz. 5/0 with a Caraway creek custom baits R-max 10 in Green pumpkin.
  25. Is it me or does Fisher Anaya look like he could be Seth Feider's kid?
