  1. 30lb braid to leader of choice covers about every scenario possible.straight braid for certain situations if needed. Braid is far from gone.
  2. Definitely recommend the curado mgl 150, bought one and now have three lol the curado k didn’t handle lighter baits well and was bulky when I tried one out for a bit.
  3. Shimano metaniums for the last two years won me over ! Went from several Lews pro ti reels to the metaniums and won’t go back anytime soon! Even sold of a few of the pro ti’s.
  4. The one you can afford and best fits you overal is the best senko rod. To many variables to narrow it down to a single rod or even a couple.

Multiples! Especially if they’re on sale. Sooner or later you will lose that bait unfortunately
  6. Lews rods are traditionally stiffer then most but that’s not always a bad thing! I have two xfintity combos I let friends who come along or family use and after a couple years they’re still work great. The dicks sporting goods exclusive carbon fire rods are actually really nice and surprised more don’t use them… I’ve got a couple of them and are a little more true to their action then the Walmart xfinity rods . Several years of abuse from friends and family usage and no issues or breaking to report.
  7. No negatives here with braid! Use quality braid like sufix 832 or j braid etc and that will cut out most issues…. Straight braid or braid to mono leader for all 36 setups I have and never saw increase in backlash, breakage, fraying etc … like any line you need to keep an eye on the knot and watch for Knicks ! Aside that I’m guessing a lot of user error going on….
  8. 3/8 and occasionally 1/4 for pond/ river fishing. Shirtless and always a trailer
  9. The new z man goat toadz is where it’s at without the skirt on the buzzbait
  10. Skip the boca bearings and go with spool speed xcr ultra or hedgehog air spool bearings if you want a noticeable difference . The cheaper ceramic bearings work but there’s a difference in them compared to higher end bearings! And no you won’t gain a ton of distance from any new bearing but they’re smoother and the reel casts a lot smoother/easier
  11. There’s several YouTube videos about this and the action between stick worm brands and Yamamoto always comes out the best and they catch fish… the bps stik-o worm is pretty close and has similar salt content but are much cheaper and can be purchased is a bulk pack. Throwing weightless I prefer all the salt I can get for weight and yum definitely lacks that and doesn’t have a decent shimmy in the water when falling but they do catch fish as well. So use what you can afford/like and catch some fish! But there’s definitely a difference in the brands …
  12. Braid to leader/ mono and it’s a great all purpose line to use. Use what make you happy.
  13. Settings 1 lowest braking 2 mono or braid 3 fluro 4 max brake-wind or awkward lures dont set the spool tight or the dc won’t work properly… just tight enough to get rid of the spool side to side play . This is per shimano and there’s a informative YouTube video from jp derose about all of this . Dc isn’t a cute all either and often you’ll need to thumb it here and there, especially when the lure hits the water or you could get a backlash still. Or maybe perhaps you got a bad one or just need to work on your casting skills ….
  14. 30lb braid on 16 baitcaster setups and never a issue! Don’t need 50lb unless a certain application calls for it… flipping, pitching, bigger swim baits etc . I initially tie a knot then wrap with electrical tape then tightly spool the reel up. quality gear makes a big difference just as a properly set up a baitcaster will and then practice practice practice! Birds nests will happen
  15. Z man nedlockz I’ve used with no issues
  16. Game changer trash master jigs are as weedless as you can get from my personal experience. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/search-tackle.html?start=0&count=30&searchtext=Trashmaster
  17. Ahhhh I was thinking the 17 scorpion ! Forgot about the 19 red one
  18. Curado mgl 150 would be a great all around reel. The 19 scorpion is not mgl but the 21 is…. The bad, the 21 doesn’t cast as far unfortunately! Seems they over braked it compared to the 19. If you can find a new 19 then that would definitely be a good option.
  19. Check out owner twistlock hooks for weighless flukes. They have regular and light hooks as well as any size you’ll need for fluke fishing . You’ll tear less baits and have a good quality sharp hook
  20. I use 15lb sufix 832 braid in neon lime color and have no issues whatsoever even in clear quarry type waters . I will admit one time I had a decent size bass swim to my line near the top that I could see, swam up to it and sat there a second then turned around and swam away, so they definitely know something is in their neighborhood that shouldn’t be.
  21. Slow shipping, communication isn’t bad, their back order stuff is a joke and can often be found in stock else where , they do have a awesome selection or baits/lures etc that isn’t found else where , prices are high for sure. A shame the direction they are heading as they could be the best place to shop online for fishing stuff .
  22. Great great great company! Super fast shipping too! Don’t disregard them over a simple order issue without a phone call etc …
  23. Wondered as well. Not a fan of power pro myself but sufix 832 and j braid I favor. Looked online and couldn’t find any info if the new strike king is 4 or 8 carrier braid ?
  24. $100 price difference and not worth it at that price point . Good reel but at $300 there’s better options for that price or slightly higher price .
