  1. I got my kayak for $110 at Menards during a sale, so it's possible. Keep an eye on Craigslist, a lot of people bought kayaks this year and some of them might be selling them. Looks like Walmart has an 8 footer for $148. I'm sure that's nothing special but it will get you out there. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Lifetime-Pacer-8-ft-Kayak-w-Paddle-91032/636556087
  2. I've been using these and they work great. They're longer than most weights. https://hitenausa.com/products/tungsten-stick-sinker.html
  3. Not a huge fan on my bait casters, tends to stick to itself on the spool and reduces my pitching accuracy. Phenomenal on my spinning reels though.
  4. We only have an adorable amount of snow so far in central Michigan.
  5. This winter, the boat is getting a full rewire. Every wire will plug into a hub and route out. There will be extra slots and extra wires so if something goes wrong on the water, I can change the wire carrying the current or change the slot. All with minimal time and possibly no tools. Also going to try and get a speaker in there because I want my boat to say stuff like "Startup sequence initiated" when accessory power comes online.
  6. Looking for more control than a cotton swab would offer. My goal is to paint with the same quality that you get in the fancy painted crank baits.
  7. Incompatible with powder.
  8. What was the big draw for today?
  9. @Daniel Abram The Fishmas gift arrived today!! The package said expected delivery date was the 19th so it looks like USPS was a little off, LoL. These look great! Thanks for the locally made WV baits! I'm pretty excited about these ultra soft tubes and Rage Bug clones. That gray is going to do some work I think. And I have never seen a Lumaflex buzz bait before, so that's going to be fun to try as well! Thank you!
  10. Just make sure to clean it thoroughly when you're done. Built up dried paint in its internals will cause all kinds of headaches!
  11. Yes, but they need to be thin. There's a variety of ways. I prefer to add both Vallejo Airbrush Thinner and Vallejo Flow Improver. It's about $30 to get the two of them. If you want a budget option, distilled water and some dish soap do the deed as well.
  12. This kit is fine. The G series airbrushes aren't the best ones for a novice. They work but tend to be more on the fiddly side.
  13. Gross. Looks like the QC manager called in sick that day.
  14. Boat no supposed to go on land....
  15. Hopefully moving, California time is inconvenient for me. LoL
  16. I use this: https://cajunrods.com/collections/featured-products/products/atled™-872-7-ft-med-power-fast-action No regrets.
  17. I always skin hook. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth when what happened to you happens to me.
  18. Wind was a real issue for me in central Michigan too this year! Had a great early spring but after that it was harder to get bit than previous years. My three all stars for the year were (not necessarily in this order): 1. A green pumpkin Rage Bug with an Owner 4/0 CPS hook and a 1/8 or 1/4 tungsten weight. 2. A brown and blue Snack Daddy tube on a Secret Lures Stupid Tube jighead. 3. Jackall Archelon in the gray blue color with a tungsten weight and flipping hook. Those three baits resulted in most of my keepers for the year. Honorable mention to the humble jig, who picked up the slack countless times.
  19. Yeah. It's mind boggling that of all the products they carry that I'll walk out with barely anything. Though to be fair I walk out of SW empty handed a lot too. Usually that's because they don't sell what I am looking for. SW inventory constantly leaves me scratching my head, and this was long before the pandemic when you just had to be thankful they had anything available.
  20. My nearest BPS is a bit of a drive but I used to do my annual restocking and tackle buying extravaganza there every spring. Haven't done this the last few years as I end up not finding much I want anymore. Now I shop online and go to some independent stores that have much better inventory for me.
  21. I don't think fish anywhere care. But my inner princess sure does! LoL
  22. Not even a safety line. C'mon, at least mitigate your stupid.
