It is not really like that, It is like they are teaching you how to read the condition and write the story, It is up to you depending on what condition you get the result. one day I was in a lake and I try to catch bass for couple hours and I couldn't catch any, I did try TX rig and jig and swim bait 4'. when I got tired I said let me use my BFS set up to catch some trout for dinner tonight!!! In my 3rd cast I got 1.5lb bass in my 5th cast I catch a 2lber and after about 2min I catch another 1.5lber bass. three bass less than 30min with 1/8oz jighead with 1 inch minnow, and I was killing myself to catch them for two hours. So really it is really depends to your situation. The pro is right, he is getting results by that specific lure/technique but it doesn't mean you'll get also in same day. maybe other day and other place it will work for you.

I you are using trout magnet, Use lines in their website S.O.S get one spool for casting and 1 spool for leader, you can do 3lb test but I suggest use 2lb test. I am using 2lb test and catch trout up to 10lb with it.

I use BFS also and heaviest I cast was 1/8oz and I catch 2lb bass with it(on 9lb braided line).

for stream you can go up to 6lb test. I have 15lb test braid as backing and 30 yards of fluorocarbon , So ill not call that leader anymore. but I use 4lb test invizX to 6lb.

I am using Varivas Saltwater, It is best lb test for diameter and very strong line, I use that for my main BFS set up and never disappointed me. The knot and the line very strong and color white of the line making it invisible practically. the spool is expensive (I think $110) but it is worth it and I have mine about two years on my spool.

No, Dont do that please. the smallest Lb test I did is 20lb test for my ML travel rod and I have 12 to 16lb test Fluoro for leader in case I want. Otherwise use that straight braid for poppers.

14 years ago when my son was born, my parents gave me copy of a paper under my sons name, They said when he is 20 he can have this 6digit amount for him, If he wait till 30 years old it guarantee that it will be 7 digit. so in any case he doesn't want it , it will be mine and in any case I am not here it will be taken by my younger brother. So my father kinda did that for me and even for my son. I in other hand build a business and even in last two years I was through a lot and have hard time to keep it, But all I was thinking keeping that business and keep going so I can hand it to my son some day. One night I was out with my friends , we are about 4 cars and 6 person, Later that night another one join and became 7 person, The place is aqueduct middle of nowhere. The first road was 5.5 miles away and first sign of life was a gas station two miles that road. So you imagine we could see a car lies away driving on that road. It was dead silent and we were cat fishing and striper fishing. Around midnight we hear screams of a man while we are around fire and talking, And my friends start o talk about skin walkers and that they are real and they are sound like that, While we were talking, The screams got closer and my friends were believer of skinwalkers. I must say they freak out by the screams while getting closer and we choose the new moon for that fishing so it was really dark. make story short after an hour when scream was very close all of my friends ran other side of canal in their car and got ready with what they carry, The smallest was 12 gage Since I had no idea and dont believe , I stay fishing in dark and I saw a Man other side (opposite side of where I was) of aquaduckt and he was freaking walking and scream time to time. I was so glad he didn't look at me and I was so glad no fish got hook to ring the bells I put on my rods. and he left screaming. anyways I think it was a crack/drug user but one of my friend insisted that it was skinwalker. This is my Goto 5'6" and 1gr to 8gr ML Rod and I Paired with Conquest BFS.

BFS Rod Lenght: I have Five BFS combos and non of the rods longer than 5'6", That what. I call BFS rod which usually using in streams. I have sixth combo which is 1 power edge rod 8' with Aldbaran BFS reel and I use that only on couple lakes for trout fishing that you can cast that without getting into any trees and get the most of distance with 1/32 jigheads. so watch the lake you going to fish and choose the length of rods depending on the location you are fishing. since you going to have one BFS combo, I suggest you do 6' rod or at the most 6'6". (the heaviest jighead I use in my BFS setups is 1/16oz)

They cant be color blind when they responding to some color at some day and to other color another day when you using same bait, So I think they would see a silhouette or something different from each color.

that would work for it just fine, good choice and saving money. I have two combos for swimbaits, the one for 6" and s-wavwer is Curado XXH 8' rod with Curado DC 150 size.

what kind of swimbait we talking about? how big and how heavy?

I always respect other people choices, But ill. never go back to Abus, I only have one Toro Monster reel for my big swimbaits and I always want to get rid of it. if you fish with them in windy condition, sand will get to them for sure and you need to clean and send them to service frequently. I only oil my shamans and lube them, Never sent to service yet.
