  1. Welcome to Bass Resources Tony.
  2. I Tried mt favorit BFS combo with 10lb J-Brais and 4lb Invizx. I could get 20 yard with no problem for 1/16 jig with no single back lash. I am going to release the breaks more to get more distance, Because one of my friends getting 40 yards which is my goal.
  3. 4lb braid to 2lb fluor so can cast 1/16oz hopefully to have true BFS fishing fun.
  4. Spinning: Conquest 842 Rod With Shimano exsence spinning reel. Casting: M-Aire Rod with Conquest BFS Reel
  5. For me is Sturgeon, and as we speak I am making plan to do it as soon as possible, I just need to travel to North Sacramento River for that.
  6. River2Sea 160 and 200 are good choice for the money, If you want to level up, Baitsanity for cheaper and Deps 250 if you willing to pay more.
  7. I have one dobyns rod for my large swimsuit(u to 20 Oz), Let me tell you, I am in high end tackle, don't have rod less than $500 in arsenal, But I was forced to buy this dobys because I had no other choice, and now I am glad that I did, it is very light and cast my swimsuits like a champ, not getting tired using it. and it feels ultra high end. So honestly I fully recommend you to do yourself a favor and go with them. The picture attached the info of my Dobyns 908.
  8. I really hope so. will report the result right here.
  9. There is room, but the whole idea of BFS is spool balance, In my idea the tape will unbalance the spool on casting and it will effect my casts and results backlash or in good scenario I’ll not get maximum distance due to having more break on spool. Once I tried BFS it brings me whole new level of casting technique, anyways I did the tape and going to try it soon in this couple days, I did it for all five BFS set ups I have, let’s wait and see the result. Second reason I was trying to avoid tape was the spool weight, which you adding some amount of weight to spool and it is definitely impacting your casting performance .
  10. so use Sahara 500 or any of 500 reels out there, but don't forget you want UL rod for sure. I am getting new rod tomorrow from edge it is 1 power 7'6" rod for jigging trout magnet. so 7'6" help casting distance and UL rod for casting itself.
  11. aldebaran BFS or Conquest BFS, 2lb Braid is crazy, I have 4.5lb and I cant even see it and make knots and ETC.... the rod is also very important that be able to handle that cast. PM me if you want to buy some of my set ups, I have couple of the set ups that I am willing to sell.
  12. oh yeah, I bought one spool, but for now I don't dare to think about it after I saw the diameter by my own eyes.
  13. Guys I was trying for 3 hours(Yes 3 long hors), To make knot for 4lb braid directly to my bait finesse Conquest reel. Having electric tape or any kind of tape is not an option since it will effect the line capasity and performance. Also backing is not an option as well. So how the hell I can do it? I want a knot that I can use and hold that. If I cant do it, I have no option but to go 6lb and wish ill not have same issue. Would you please help?
  14. I myself cant imagine go out with one rod, but my go to is my G-Loomise Conquest 844C With my Shimano Anteras MD DC, I have 30lb Maxquatro with FC100 16lb Leader(leader length depending on water and technique I am fishing). I know for so many of you it is overkill monster setup , But I am in SoCal and that can become handy most of the year. Glenn Thank you for great tips and great videos.
  15. I start with DC Baitcaster, Honestly all the bait casters can be dumb free. I guess Glenn have video also about that, But I am sure the reel test on YouTube have that video.
  16. Wish you very best and I want to say I am very happy to be lucky enough to be a member here, Thanks to Glenn and all of the guys helping for having such magneficant website for learning and exchanging info about fishing and specially Bass fishing. I am going to be out fishing from this Saturday and ill be out one week out till next year, So Happy New year also.
  17. I have 15lb braid on my finesse combo and always have Fluorocarbon 6lb Vanish, Because it is lower cost and I change my leader so many times(few times a day) and sometimes I have up to 30ft leader depending on condition.
  18. I bought them more expensive before, they are so durable and you can use them multiple times, especially if you rig them right.
  19. its the first, Most of the time, you might step on it or close door on it and weaken the spot, thats the only logical reason for this unfortunate incident.
  20. Pick the 844 for sure, it is my all the time rod that I use 85% of the times.
  21. This one will answer most of your questions.
  22. I want to share one article here, But somehow I am not able to find out how to do it, There is no option as far as I can see. Would someone please help me?
  23. Amber or copper are the best, Ive had my regular brown since stone ages, Last week I wanted to order oe only for fishing, something sporty, unfortunately couldn't find copper or amber and I went with Gold mirror(Blue mirror was my second choice), I was thinking the Gold color base more near to copper and amber than others.
  24. For me I always announce that LOL, I tell everyone around me so they can catch also, but I hate someone cast on my head haha...
  25. I am going to small pond tomorrow as well, but I am throwing 8" swim baits. the pond you have is grassy? use lipless, also use crank bait to the depth that meet the top of grass, so if top of your grass is 4 feet deep, use the crank bait that going up to 4 feet. if you didn't get success on this two you can always go finesse. I hope it helped.
