  1. Not good...lol. Everything was way too high and muddy.
  2. I don't sweat it too much...I was honest when I said it makes me laugh. My dad said his dad used to say it about his generation... Remembers hearing his grandfather criticize his dad for having it too easy. I'm an equal opportunity hater of laziness... Young or old if you suck you suck.
  3. Both grandmas always called me Chuck...started when I was little and continued until they passed. My uncle Rob, dads younger brother, still calls me that to this day. My Plant Manager Colin has called me Big C for the last 6 or 7 years. Everything else can not be mentioned here as they are NSFW.
  4. I also use 50lb power pro. I used 65 for years but have found 50 to be plenty and it casts better.
  5. Nice work...that's a beast.
  6. Your likely on to something there.
  7. Exactly. On the flip side though I'm glad they never showed up, I don't want to work with worthless people like that.
  8. My plant manager has complained about this very thing to me several times in the past year. Had two guys go thru the phone interview, the in person interview and the background check, physical, drug testing. Both came back clean both accepted the job offer on the spot, neither ever showed. One guy text a few days later and said he changed his mind, other guy never contacted us again. Why waste your time and others?
  9. I've never understood the sissy stick mentality, guys have used spinning in saltwater forever. Saltwater fish are way tougher than any bass. I've used spinning gear my entire life and don't see that changing. I've got no issue with BFS gear,in fact I'm intrigued by it. But the truth is I can't justify spending $300-$400 dollars on a BFS combo just to get similar performance to a $150 spinning combo.
  10. I started dating my wife at 28, ill be 40 in a few months. I was moving one heavy crap in the basement last weekend. She asked if I still felt as strong as I did when we first got together. I just laughed. I'm not taking anything away from anybody, there is no doubt a ton of learning opportunity with guys like Clunn and Blaukat. They have an undeniable wealth of knowledge on bass behaviour, boat operations, tournament etiquette. I was speaking purely to the continued tournament success. I used to watch Randy all the time, but I got tired of his hypocrisy. He would ***** about electronics then talk about how much 2D sonar helped him when it came out. The next video he's complaining about how many people are getting into tournament fishing, followed quickly by a tournament recap video. I just don't understand why he gets to do things but if anybody else does its unfair or cheating.
  11. Absolutely. I've yet to recommend it to anybody or give anyone a pour and have them not like it.
  12. Usually a Ned rig or jerkbait. Quickly followed by a chatterbait.
  13. I always laugh when everybody says " kids these days sure are lazy and entitled". Hate to break it to you bud but most people are lazy and entitled. Where do these young people learn it from? Their parents. I'm 39, not a kid but not an old man...I have a strong work ethic. Learned that from my mom and dad. To take it even farther I will say hands down the laziest person I've ever worked with is a guy at my plant...he just turned 56. Have a 22 year old kid working on days who works circles around his lazy a$%.
  14. I use a Texas rigged finesse worm on a 1\0 hook with a 1\16 and 1\8 bullet weight in cold water all the time. My main 2 worms are the 4.5in roboworm and the old Berkley havoc bottom hopper. I throw them in places I wouldn't normally throw an exposed hook Ned namely brush and shallow grass.
  15. I agree to a point, but if that was 100% true then Rick Clunn and Randy Blaukat would be dominating.
  16. I don't have much of a dog in this fight as I don't even own a boat or kayak. Not because I can't afford one, but mainly because I can fish almost all the water bodies around me from shore effectively because they are relatively small. That said, if I had a boat I would not have FF sonar but have no issue with anybody else using one. The only reason I don't like them in Bassmasters is I find the footage to be boring, otherwise I have no qualms. If it made fishing "too easy" and there was no skill involved in catching fish with it why are the same guys always winning or placing high? Randy's biggest issue is his best years are far behind him, so he throws any shade he can at anybody whose ahead of him. Pretty soon he will be saying guys under 55 shouldn't be able to fish competitively because they are stronger, faster and have better coordination and that's an "unfair" advantage. It would be like me playing football against a bunch of high schoolers because I did it 25 years ago, getting me a#$ kicked then going to the school board and telling them they need to get rid of the football program because life's unfair.
  17. Smart. The women you attract are not as into superficial things and the job opportunities are more interesting.
  18. All black buzz bait for the win!
  19. Winter. In a good winter we are iced over for 3 months in a bad year I've seen it go for almost 5.
  20. Didn't you guys have a ton of snow this winter?
  21. How about Here's to you Ms. Fleckenstein?.....that's it I'm goin to Nam.
  22. If you try it let me know what you think
  23. Well I jumped the gun. Checked 4 spots in 3 different creeks...everything high, muddy, swift and ice jams all over the place. Never wet a line. Was nice to see some high water..promising for ice out and beyond.
  24. Oh I will..even if it's a fail it beats sitting my a#$ on the couch.
  25. Tomorrow. Was gonna go today but got called into work. I'm gonna check a few small creeks for suckers and chubs. Have a larger creek im gonna check for carp. Maybe ill get lucky and run across a pike. It ain't much but it's the only open water I got, and I'm psyched.
