Trailer Hook, Throat Hook, Spinnerbait
I've fished a spinner bait for 20+ years and don't think I've ever used a trailer hook. Rarely use a trailer either.

Cool looking bottle...I've never tried any Barton products but maybe should. Pricey? Edit: I lied I've got a bottle of 1792 small batch, that's a Barton product

Whiskey gingers tonight.... 2 oz Jameson, 5.5 oz Canada dry and juice of a lime wedge in a glass full of ice. 3 of those while watching Top Gun Maverick. Not a bad Saturday night.

Gallbladder surgery...
Well she had it removed yesterday morning, out of surgery around 11am. She had bad nausea and vomiting yesterday but today she's doing better and has even gotten a little bit of her appetite back. Dealing with the surgery and gas pain now.

Optimism
This is also me...at least the slow to anger part. Haven't always been that way, but my woman has really mellowed me out. I'm very grateful for that. Couple situations in the past few years that I walked away from that 15 years ago...hell 10 years ago...I woulda hurt somebody or got hurt myself. She's also the most caring person I've ever met, that has shown me the importance of love and compassion.

Optimism
I find the controlling what you can really helps acceptance and understanding of things you cant. At work we have alot of times where the plant is down because of human error, I understand how that's frustrating. When mechanical things fail, which they do and people get ticked I don't understand it. If you never want to be disappointed by things breaking you better not own a boat, vehicle, home etc.

Optimism
I'm getting a little more optimistic as I age, but in reality I'm a realist. Instead of thinking the worst is going to happen or things are magically going to get better for no reason, I just do my best to deal with things as they come.

Smoky Scotch...
I picked up a bottle of Ardbeg An Oa a while back and like it, but honestly I'm looking for something more challenging. Its the only Islay I've had and while its smoky its also not that powerful to me, its actually got alot of sweetness in the back end. I'm looking for heavy smoke, medicinal and iodine notes.

Smoky Scotch...

Favorite game meat..
Let me say this, everybody's palate is different. That said I've got a close friend whose a big hunter who has tried tons of different stuff over the years. He generally like any kind of game meat. I asked him what he thought of goose, he said hmmmm stay away from it.

Wild Turkey 101...
So I've got a bottle of this and can't decide what I really think...I mean its tasty but it has more heat than I'd expect at that proof. I keep seeing videos and reading reviews saying its one of the best bourbons under $25. Anybody a fan?Anything you like better at the price point? How much better is rare breed for an extra $20?

Chronic Back Pain
Best of luck man, I hope you find some relief. As I stated in a post last year I've suffered off and on with lower back issues for almost 20 years. Last spring at this time I had a really severe flare up. I did some physical therapy then started doing some working out and walking 4-5 nights a week which made a huge impact on my pain and back strength. It was going really well until Sunday when I put in a 14.5hr day at work. Woke up yesterday and could feel something was off...then at 10am I stood up from my desk at work felt that all too familiar sharp stabbing pain then felt my legs kinda give out...honestly thought I was gonna hit the d**n floor but was able to catch myself. The struggle is real.

So tonight I'm sitting here watching Once Upon A Time In Hollywood enjoying a wild turkey 101 old fashioned. Get a call from a good buddy that the crappies are biting on a small lake about 40 minutes east...do I wanna go in the morning? He'll yeah! Gonna celebrate with a nice big pour of Ardbeg An Oa I actually had a pint of Guinness with a bacon bourbon burger at a local pub the other day. Fantastic.

Gallbladder surgery...
So my lady has suffered from stomach issues for several years. She recently had her gallbladder checked and they found several stones including one large one. The surgeon suggested having her gallbladder removed because of the number and size of the stones. This is a very common low risk surgery but of course she has gone down the rabbit hole so now she's freaked out because you can find horror stories for anything when you look. My question is have any of you had this procedure done? What was the experience like? Did you have any complications after?

Went whiskey shopping...
Mediocre whiskey is still pretty d**n good in my book. I've always liked Woodford...just had a glass of the double oaked and its delicious. Cheers to you as well. Agree on counting blessings and enjoying a long weekend. It was a rough week, started out Monday getting an acid burn at work. But I'm healing up and now I've finally got good weather and open water so its all good.
