It’s not a requirement. USCG rule 33 Your boat horn, air horn, a whistle are all good as a sound signaling device. Congratulations on your new boat. Great luck and enjoy.

With over 70,000 members on this site how many are LEO’s do you think? With that being said that’s not a very smart question or remarks to put on a public forum. The members on here are not only legal fishermen but also very ethical if you would have taken the time to read some post you would have come to that conclusion. Good luck on your endeavors and I hope you make some good decisions.

what do i need to know about keeping bass
I just to say welcome aboard and I’m always glad to see a youngster getting involved. Even if it’s a no go on keeping the bass, don’t let that stop you from doing other stuff that you can use your tank for. Maybe start a bait business? As long as it’s legal and your parents are okay with it. Good luck J

General electronics advice, new boat
Brand is a personal preference as stated above I like humminbird. Pardon was spot on. DI on bow and SI on console if it's in your budget. Make sure whichever ones you pick they communicate with your TM brand. Definitely same brand for both. $ will determine the size. And yes have them installed with the purchase of the boat. There are nice units out there that are fairly inexpensive and easy to use. One example would be Lowrance hook2 series.

- Trailer light ?
- Baitcaster vs Spinning Reel
Spinning for wacky and on winding days skipping. Other than those BC. Both have there place and it's also a personal preference to what feels best.- Delimma
Is there a issue with your current TM.? I'm a Ultrex fan. But that's just my personal choice.- Trailer light ?
You will need at least a 5 pin if your backing up some of the newer bass boats. I know without it your not going to back up my Skeeter. The 5th pin closes off the valve that allows fluid to the brakes when the back up lights activate on the trailer.- New rod. New reel. FIrst January bass!
Nice catch Brian.. - Trailer light ?
