I've own Lowrance and Humminbird and to me Humminbird is my favorite . There mega down 360 and there SI and DI are great. But it does come down to opinions.

Communications is the key. I'm headed to Texas in June for a 2 day tournament and I already called and asked a guide if I could book a half day trip just to pick his brain. Since I've never fished the lake I was at a major disadvantage. I'm just inquiring of patterns and anything about the lake I need to know. If this for home defense consider a Taurus Judge. It covers a couple of the above mentioned. It will shoot 45 colt or 410 shotgun shell.
