Shimano calcutta question
I am putting a Calcutta 50 together right now with all the goodies. After upgrading the drag to Carbontex, it did improve the top end drag. Fine little reels, may have to keep this one for myself.

Ohhh, it feels soooo GOOD!
Oh boy...If we were having a beer and you said that; I probably wouldn't have let that go. Buuut...this is a family forum Yep, I had to turn the computer off and go lift weights for an hour just to pass that one up. :'( I have nothing useful to add to this thread other than to tell you both that was the hardest I laughed all day.

MOVIES.
I thought Righteous Kill was good but at the same time I felt it should have been great. Those two together in a film should have made sparks fly out my arse after watching it. I still think Heat was better IMO.

Soaking bearings to clean them
Blue and yellow can, it will be with the paint thinners and mineral spirits. Costs about $7.00 for the smaller can which should last you for one season. I done 24 reels last year and still have about half a can left.

Color Blind?
The wife tells me I am all the time. So what if I want to wear a blue and black sock with my khakis for dinner.

Soaking bearings to clean them
I hope you mean the expert on Goofy Actually, I do recall a preference of Ronsonol over Zippo fluid in my lighter. Anything to that? __________________ Burley, I'll have to take another look at using Acetone. Lighter fluid and all those other solvents you all are using do a great job with only one exception, they leave behind paraffin wax residue on your bearings after drying. Try the industrial strength acetone, you will not be disappointed. No paraffin residue, fast drying time. It can be found at any Lowe's or Home Depot. I use a heated ultrasonic cleaner which really cuts down the cleaning time on bearings. I put them in for a one hour bath, change the acetone in the glass jars, one more hour bath with clean acetone. Result, perfectly clean bearings. BTW, your wife's or girlfriend's nail polish remover is not industrial strength acetone, it will foul your bearings, don't use it. Also use care with the acetone, proper ventilation is a must as you will soon see. Strong stuff!!!

Custom vs. Lucky Craft, IMA, Megabass, etc.
It makes perfect sense to buy custom baits. You see a lot of talk on here about production cranks such as Lucky Craft, Megabass, and whatever else. I think there are many people on this board who use custom cranks and just don't talk about them.

Musky 1/ Swimbait 0
This was funny when I read this because he (pitchinkid) and I were talking on the phone and he was joking about a muskie eating that swimbait. I have lost a few even on braided line, those critters have some very large teeth...think freshwater shark.

TOP FISH YOU'VE NEVER CAUGHT
A.J., look in the new Bass Pro catalog in the front. Johnny Morris is holding a 52 lb. Barra. My top fish to catch would be: 150+ lb. Tarpon on a fly rod. Taimen on a fly rod. Pirarucu, these things are total beasts. Barramundi on light spinning tackle. Peacock Bass on the Amazon.

Big crappie
I have never seen crappie that big as the one the woman is holding. Toads in the crappie world for sure.

Finally
That hard top looks good. Nice looking vehicle. Word of advice, stay out of the mud, too nice of a vehicle to tear up.

how about a review section?
I like this idea. No biased opinions just straight reviews from ordinary people. I guess I should use the term "ordinary" loosely, after all, Burley is a member of this forum.

Shimano Rods made in...........China!!!!?????
Most of the low to mid range rods are made overseas. This is how they are available at that price point. Shimano does manufacture rods in Japan but they are fairly pricey. Take a look at some of them here.

It was slow for me all day, sometimes to the point it wouldn't load. I've noticed a few other members double posting recently due to the pages not loading right. I tried to send a PM last night and finally give up after 20 minutes. I thought it may be the browser I was using, that wasn't it either. I tried two other browsers, same thing on them. I've tried clearing the cache, cookies, just about everything I can think of. It has been kind of hit and miss here lately on the slowness. Last night everything was running fine then all of a sudden, back to dial-up speed or slower. Glenn, I'm not complaining, just wondering what I am doing wrong. Do you think photo hosting sites such as Photobucket might be having issues causing this problem? Any suggestions? :-/ BTW, it is running slow right now for me, anyone else? [edit]Back to running fast and normal again, this is frustrating. :-?[/edit]- What if a Zillion, Pixy and Alphas Mated?
Bump You made it nearly a month on the resolution. The reel question is can you limit it to the 2 you have ordered right now. What do you think? :-[ Got another Pixy on the way from Japan right now. Looks like another Pixilla in my future very soon. - What's up with the view counts?
