Glad this thread got resurrected, never got to see it the first time. I just wanted to say this is one of the best if not the best custom builds I have ever seen. Great work!!

That's the one, I remember seeing those when I was a kid, going on vacation with the family. I can see some resemblance.

I live in the mountain state and I usually hit the lake on the first week of March every year. Usually by then, most of the ice is melted off the main lake and you should be looking at daytime temps in the mid 40's to low 50's. Fishing will be slow but when you get bit, 90% of the time it will be a toad. Shoot me a PM sometime, there are a few of us on here that live in WV that fish together quite often. I even get together with some of the members from the surrounding states, it makes for awesome fishing trips.

Pretty hard to argue about service like this. I would be all over a Loomis if they just made a line of more modern designs. I guess when you have a blank like the GLX, you don't need the modern look.

I got one from RedlineRobert on the Christmas gift exchange. I am foaming at the mouth to throw this thing. Probably the best looking bait I own.

That guy has got a good thing going. The baits are expensive, no doubt, but people are buying them like crazy. I remember just a year ago there were only a handful of custom painters on eBay, two years ago probably less than five. It's a lucrative business if you have the skills and the time. This guy obviously has both.

Probably my biggest pet peeve right there. Drives me nuts!! My favorite is the guy driving to work in the morning with the newspaper on his steering wheel. I see this same guy all the time, I don't know how the hell he can see where he's going. I just shake my head and keep driving. :-/

You guys down south better get ready, you're gonna get a taste of real winter this weekend. Northern Florida is showing for a possibility of 15 degrees for a low. You guys will freeze to death. Paybacks for all the warm weather photos of fish.

I got burned early on with Quantum. I purchased several 1310's and 1420's and in everyone of them the same thing happened. The anti-reverse pawl quit working on hooksets. This led to one too many bird's nests. I did purchase a few others after that, the US 300 and the US 600. I have six of these and after cleaning and lubing them up, they have become display reels only. I never had any problems out of the US series, probably because they are modeled after the Shimano Calcutta. It's Daiwa all the way for me now.

Probably just a rash of viruses hitting the web right now. Mine has been doing the same thing too.

I have to agree with this 100% ;D

You can eliminate this problem by getting some small coffee stirrers and cutting about an inch off, running your braid through the stirrer, then tying on as usual. No more snagged lines on the front prop.

I consider this guy on the same level as the ones sitting at home drawing a disability check and nothing is wrong with them. He wants you to feel sorry for him when he says he can't reach the items, even though it clearly shows him not really trying. Legal extortion!!! >

Awesome story. I think this has happened to everyone of us that has taken someone fishing for the first time. In my case it was a musky that my friend caught with my rod while I was getting a $40.00 lure out of a tree that he cast into. Funny stuff
