  1. Some d**n good pics right there. I wish just once I could attend the Classic and take it all in. Gonna be real interesting to see how the pros with aluminum boats stack up to the ones without.

I think it has something to do with men being the hunter/gatherer types. I do the same thing all the time. I could probably go several years and not have to buy another plastic bait again if I used just what I have acquired.
  3. I'm glad Wayne is sleeping with A.J. on the Kentucky trip. Which one of you guys is going to be the big spoon? ;D
  4. You're not a sucker, the 110's are a slow floater and not a suspending bait. I didn't know that either until I started using them a lot last year and asked the same thing. T-Rig aka. Mr. Tackle Junkie himself set me straight on the slow floating part. I thought I bought defective 110's. :-[
  5. That's kinda the same lines I'm following along. There will probably be days when I'm not even in my own boat. ;D
  6. Rome is one of the places I hope to visit one day before I die. You are lucky to have been there.
  7. Y'all be good. Don't make me release the hounds again.
  8. Just as J Francho stated, look back in the archives, lots of "normal" gear reviewed for the budget minded angler. My guess is Trey Kistler did not pay Dennis (Cal) for a great review on his rod lineup. Nor do I think he give him a good review because he is located in California also. Kistler Rods is located in Magnolia, Texas. Yeah, some of the reviews are 2 yrs. old but just today they reviewed a St. Croix jerkbait rod. I can see where you're coming from on the high end gear but some of us have a real bad disorder for spending too much on tackle. I won't mention any names...
  9. I would be one of the first ones in line if that ever happened. Pity it never will anytime soon. :-/
  10. If you can find them, try the Seal Skinz Chill Blocker. They are getting harder to find now due to demand this time of year. They are 100% waterproof and very warm without the bulk of a normal glove. Cabela's used to list them on their website but I haven't seen them in a while. You may have to call them directly to see if they still stock them. http://www.danalco.com/htmls/products/products.shtml
  11. If you are talking about the Reel Grips that go over your existing knobs get in contact with the company. They will do custom orders to suit your needs. Go Mountaineers!! http://www.reelgrip.com/
  12. Great news!! I knew you couldn't stand it. Maybe see if we can schedule a convoy for that Saturday.
  13. I gonna do what I always do on a new lake, ride around until I find something that looks like home and fish the hell out of it. ;D From what I have looked at so far, this lake is a lot like home. Lots of secondary points and creek channels fit right in to the way I like to fish, jigs and cranks.
  14. I guess I will fish with Pitchinkid and Speedbead most of the week unless I end up on FiveBass's boat one day. I don't have to fish on it, I just want to touch it. ;D That things gonna be like fishing off an aircraft carrier.
  15. I dont know RW, I could deal with 2 - 3 feet of stained water up on the banks flooding the trees and bushes.... WORD!!! ;D Sounds like a good opportunity to break out the Terminators.... I can only hope these are the lake conditions when we get there. This is my favorite type of condition to fish, high murky water flooding new brush. I get a chub just thinking about it.
  16. Bummer Gary, I feel for ya man. :-/
  17. WD-40 is more of a solvent than a lubricant. Not recommended for reel parts or shiny paint jobs.
  18. Big Yankees fan here, my heart is just not in the game anymore. I agree 100%
  19. It keeps me from tying off in the split on a regular o-ring which can cause knot failure due to sharp edges. I prefer ovals and switch all my cranks over.
  20. Look right here, something finally able to compete with the Steez on weight. Great looking reel too. http://www.ichibantackle.com/showproductdetail.asp?productid=3325&name=ALDEBARAN%20MG&manufacturename=SHIMANO%20[JDM] http://www.ichibantackle.com/showproductdetail.asp?productid=3326&name=ALDEBARAN%20MG%207&manufacturename=SHIMANO%20[JDM] I know there have been a few threads on this, I just wanted to post this in case any of you...ahem..."tackle junkies" wanted this reel, you can get it from this guy. He is very reliable and provides EMS shipping, usually at your house in three days. He has both versions too.
  21. I like that Hooked Up Tackle as well. They have a great Ebay site and prices are very reasonable.
  22. This is the main reason I like Mattlures so much other than his quality baits. He hasn't let the success of his baits go to his head and is always on here and other places answering questions. Good guy for sure in my book.
