AMAZING PEOPLE ON THIS SITE
Man I tell ya, I even feel smarter after reading this thread. Kudos to you tech guys, this makes my head hurt just trying to understand what you all are talking about. I was real proud of myself for doing a ping test last year on my computer. You guys take it to a whole other level.

Is that Tennessee?

You guys think big bass are hard to catch ???
I never get tired of looking at your fish pictures. Just an awesome looking animal right there.

My New PB - Is it double digit- what do you think it weighs?
I like your attitude for not being offended or blowing up on everyone for trying to give an honest answer based on a pic. Most guys are offended right off when they hear a best guess estimate and go on the defensive side. I am never good at guessing fish pictures but I do agree with the consensus of the group. Great fish and welcome to the forum.

Slow night on Boone
Like to see you have that lake figured out by the tourney. Bring home a "W". What happened to the stache?

Train vs Tornado
That's the most violent thing I have ever seen.

Burley's Random Photo of the Day - TLA
You know how they say never do anything you may regret because it might end up on the internet? This would be a prime example. Burley shot that photo while we were eating at the Roadhouse and waiting for Tommy to get there. He sent it to him in a text. Should have known it would come back to haunt me. ;D

Mrs. GMan's Big Fish
Got her interested I see. I like the look of that stained water in the background, looks like what I'm used to fishing. Great catch Mrs. GMan.

You're Invited to the 5th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Just Googled the trip, 705 miles - 11 hrs. 51 min. Not too bad of a hike from home. I'm looking at the lake on Google Earth and it looks like a typical Tennessee River system lake. Lots of possibilities for fishing various methods and styles. Should be a numbers lake for sure.

You're Invited to the 5th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
I go away for the weekend and come back to the BR Roadtrip announcement. Count me in. Haven't made up my mind if I want to stay in a cabin, room, or campground yet. Probably going to be somewhere with running water that's hot in the mornings. The campground at Kenlake was a joke. Hot showers were a rarity as well as parking space. Probably going to be a room or cabin the more I think about it.

Forgotten films
Emmit Otter's Jug Band Christmas ;D I loved that when I was a kid. Blade Runner, another one of my old favorites.

Daiwa Steez Vs. G-Loomis GLX
Stop being a hater. lol...Don't worry Doug, we all like the Loomis. If they made a split grip production rod with no fore grip, I will be one of the first in line.

And the award.........
lol, I toned it down a little. I'll go back to the weird ones in the winter when I'm in a bad mood all the time from lack of fishing. ;D

Dishnetwork HD customers
If you already have HD, then you should be getting the channel. I got the HD package late last year and I think it came with the package. Right? Agreed, one of the best channels on Dish.

Line snapping (Braid Help)
Snapped that on hooksets too. It wasn't the knots I was tying or due to fishing in rock. Braid just doesn't deal real well with sudden or hard hooksets. Having zero stretch means something has to give. It's usually the rod if the drag is cranked all the way down. I think it mainly boils down to poor abrasion resistance, braid is not so good in that category.

Braid..........its not just for fishing anymore!
Used it to repair one of my straps on my boat cover. Also used it to hang up the wife's bird feeders and windchimes. See, braid has uses after all. ;D

Line snapping (Braid Help)
I had the same issues with braid on hooksets. Braid has almost nearly zero stretch, so the shock resistance suffers on strong or solid hooksets. I switched brands thinking it might help, same issues no matter what brand I tied on. I have to say Sufix was the preferred brand to snap the least. I have since switched to Fluorocarbon and never looked back. More fish, more abrasion resistance, and no line snapping on hooksets.

Best jig rod between Daiwa zillion and kistler
Kistler Helium would be a good jig rod but you're not going to go wrong with either choice you make. I am going to get a new Zillion rod pretty soon for shallow cranks and see how much I like it. I've heard nothing but good things on the Zillions. I have owned everything in the Kistler line from the Graphite's to the LTX's. No complaints thus far with warranty or any other issues on the rods I own. The only complaint I have now with Kistler is the way the newer rods, particularly in the Helium line, have differing handles. I like consistency from one rod to the next. If this is the way Trey Kistler continues to run things in his company without seemingly caring about the differing handles, he may just have one less fan in the future. I hope they soon see the error of their ways.
