  1. 13 Fishing was recently sold. I would be concerned about warranty coverage.
  2. I've always heard that the Fury's are on the slower side of fast in comparison to other brands. I prefer a fast tip but I've never liked xfast.
  3. You broke an Ugly Stick on a hookset?
  4. Deadly Black Marabou Hair Jig
  5. PaulVE64 replied to snowplow's topic in Tacklemaking
I caught a bat at night on a jitterbug
  6. What is your budget? You would think that they'd list the line pickup. Gear ratio isnt that important on spinning gear.
  7. Shorter rods are more accurate.
  8. I hope it works but I fear the blade needs more free play. I've built a few 'what was I thinking' chatterbaits over the years.
  9. They kinda do go crazy in the spring
  10. On the river its braid to a mono leader. I want the thinnest diameter possible so the current doesnt effect my sensitivity as much.
  11. Smallies Tube Senko Crankbait Jig Spook
  12. The best answers are simple
  13. I threw a weightless fluke last year as a topwater. It did well
  14. Bass will hit a block of wood with a hook but maybe not that often.
  15. I only use spinning gear but I need alot of line pickup on the rivers I fish. Anything I throw upstream comes back really fast
  16. Flukes on a donkey rig. And I use the big swivels.
  17. Got a bright yellow skateboard for my 12th Birthday and I took it to the top of a big hill with a newly paved road and down I went. Near the bottom of the hill is where all the peagravel collected and that's where I learned what road rash was.
  18. Most effective for me has been a short erratic pop but I also employ a sweeping drag and everything in between.
  19. I only catch a handful of 4# river smallies each year. They're all great fights but it is easier on a medium power rod than lighter gear. I have an older 7' MF Avid, a 6' MLF Triumph and a 6.5' LF Triumph.
  20. I'm up near Michigan. I throw flukes in the fall until spawn in my river for walleye, pike and smallies. Dead drifting and jerked with long pauses in cold water is deadly. I also like flukes for topwater and in a donkey rig. In warmer water I'm probably throwing something more obnoxious.
  21. I've used split shot, lead wire and even spare change Edit - but those pinch wts work good too
  22. Copper wire that you could use for gardening
  23. I make my own
  24. My pattern story. 2 yr ago I was on an annual fishing trip. This year had a swampy flat for LMB & northern pike. 3rd day out we hadn't yet had a bite until I pulled into faster water with a topwater frog and the water erupted with densely packed northern gators. So much addreneline. Lost 4 frogs on 50# mono leaders in 5 casts. But it lasted half an hour.
  25. I wont say he's wrong. But what if fish statistically prefer similar conditions in water. Makes sense then that patterns work. Not that I dont start my day as a junk fisherman
