Okay if y’all liked the first question and are willing to help with another, here goes. This is Shearon Harris in NC. Of course a very popular lake for big bass. I’m wondering how these somewhat subtle changes in depth might have developed if they are accurate and if this is structure you would pay attention to. Sort of same questions as last time. Thank y’all regardless for the help for my first question. Your help is tremendously appreciated, especially @casts_by_fly’s terrific analysis In case y’all start looking at other areas of the lake that might look better, I am thinking of fishing this in a Jon Boat soon and cannot travel very far from the boat ramps. Just a trollin motor. This is the South side @Catt I know we have talked about this lake in the past and I will look into the area that you mentioned again but it may be difficult for me to get to And @WRB I haven’t forgotten what you told me either. But I’m a little less willing to show a photo of the structure we talked about

What do you consider stretchy line? I agree with heavier gear if it is required… and for the jigs I like to use it often seems to be required. iRod 704C, 15lb big game, tighter drag than usual around 6lbs is what I like for jig fishing. Everybody’s got their groove though and if it works for you, so be it

You know what really frustrates me? When I spend time checking that hook sharpness, checking my knots and checking them twice, researching the weather and lake, remembering to put on some KVD L&L the night before, makin my lure smell real good with some anise, casting right next to a stump on a point, soft water landing, slack line fall, and an entitled 12” dink thinks he’s too good for my bait. It’s maddening! Bass are so entitled these days. And “woke” culture is educating these bass to ignore my lures. Is my rod too short? Is my lure not expensive enough? Is it evident that I don’t make 100K a year? Entitled bass, shake my head

Wow. Thank you for that analysis very much. Didn’t mean to be secretive about the lake. It is the same lake as my dam thread - Pomme de Terre. As you say, I was curious about those cuts scattered across the shoreline of this lake and wanted to know what they are. Not really sure what I want to be doing with this lake yet. I might be bank-ridden or at some point I might try and take the kayak out for a short spin or rent a boat. We’ll see. Ive found no point to being secretive about large lakes that I fish on. Told everybody I was on Badin in the summer. I’m not a good enough fisherman for anybody to care ?

About to be on holiday leave starting tomorrow. I’ll have several days off here in MO and then I’ll be in NC through the holidays. Maybe one of the few times I’ll get a leave like this. Hope to take advantage by getting a decent amount of fishing in without straining my shoulder too much. Thinking of bringing out the ol Jon Boat so I don’t have to paddle and fishing on Shearon Harris or something. Should be lots of fun!
