  1. What do you want to be when you grow up? ?
  2. My parents are most responsible for instilling a good work ethic in me. I didn’t really “buy in” until later along in my schooling years, but I was expected to make straight A’s and they were masters of getting me to do it without ever being harsh. It was just an expectation that I had to meet. I am right where I want to be in life and two short periods of hard work helped make that happen. Junior and senior years of high school I worked my tail off for college applications. And leaving college I worked hard for an interview/application process that helped get me on the path I’m on now. That being said, I often count my blessings and there are an almost innumerable amount of people and external factors that helped me along. I’m truly blessed. Nowadays, I find it hard to measure up. Falling back on a strong work ethic has been a good remedy
  3. I can work on this later. Thanks y’all. Been too busy to do it yet
  4. I am on the deadline pretty much but just sent mine and expected delivery is the 20th. My lucky (or unlucky?) recipient will get to see my legendary wrapping skills (or lack thereof). Thanks for hosting this!
  5. After attending college in NY, I promised myself that I would never seek out any opportunity to live up North again. If it happens, it happens, but not if I have anything to say about it. I had a few moments of desperation in the middle of winter where I fished in this lone puddle. Not to catch, but just to toss a line. Y’all that live way up North and like to fish as much as I do, respect to you. I will say though, I cope a lot better with not fishing than I used to. Still love to, but I’ve diversified a lot and also committed to work
  6. He’s right Thats an essential color Guess you have to place another order @Darnold335
  7. The Zillion is fun Its a fun reel Real fun
  8. Hey y’all, Curious what you might call this structural feature. Deeper water pinches closer to the shoreline compared to surrounding banks. How do these develop and what is the significance of them?
  9. Thank you sir Would you say the following is true? - cold water bass want to be near current but not in it - runoff in winter colder than existing lake temp because specific heat of land is less than that of water I am also not sure if the dam on this lake is used for power generation. It is the Pomme De Terre in MO Update: it is not used for power generation even though it was designed for that purpose. Found that on a Missouri MDC Gov document regarding the lake. The dam is purely for flood control
  10. Hey y’all, When looking at information gathered by the Corps of Engineers about a particular lake, what do you consider to be valuable information and how do you interpret it? There is info about inflow, outflow, water level, water temp (of course), etc. I’m particularly interested in how inflow or outflow interact with your perceived rate of success fishing near the dam on the lake. Other places too. Weather unfortunately gonna get colder here soon and I expect I might need a larger body of water to keep open water. This lake has quite a large dam. Good thing I’ll be back in NC for a little while soon
  11. Never use cursive except to sign. My handwriting is fast and not pretty. I leave out many strokes and sometimes words are connected by a single stroke I can always read it, but others have a hard time.
  12. Glad to hear you were able to learn something valuable from them.
  13. Truth. I bought 2 more LV500s when I was at the bass pro in Springfield just because of one video by them. It’s something like “Year Round Tips for Lipless Fishing”. It ain’t even tips; it’s just them talking 15 different baits. Now, I don’t normally watch TB and don’t really like them, but when I watched that video by them a while ago, it’s what started lipless fishing for me. I started with the Red Eye Shad. They talk so confidently about baits and rods and anything you can buy. It’s what they do best. Selling something.
  14. And I contrast as well from conventional thinking with spinnerbaits, but in a different way. In very very clear water, say 6+ ft visibility, the only spinnerbait many would consider to pick up if all you listen to is YouTube videos would be a willow main blade. A compact single colorado with a silvery color to it is one of my favorites in this water clarity, but I like there to be cloud cover. I’ve also fished double Indiana’s in the same water clarity with bluebird skies and caught fish. You lean more toward willows. I lean more heavily towards Colorado’s and Indiana’s. Personal preference
  15. I did not expect to hear that. Is this what you do most of the time or only some of the time? Dependent on fish mood of the day?
  16. I can’t do it. I looked around more and just didn’t find enough to convince me that the rod is worth it. Yeah I could sell but that is time. Time also testing the rod when i could just keep using good stuff. You really are the bait monkey though; I was close
  17. The high lure rating on the 6’8” makes me question the tip of the rod and whether or not it’s like a broomstick. I’m not sure if the reason it doesn’t seem to be talked about or bought is because people don’t like it or if people generally don’t use that short of a rod.
  18. Still kinda looking at that one as well but my iRod Genesis III Harold’s Lone Star and 704C are beasts for t-rigging and jigging already. Thanks for the notification about these deals Do you own that rod or does anyone here?
  19. It was up and then it was down. I looked at it, thought maybe, went to TW reviews, liked em, went back to buy, and it was gone lol.
  20. I was literally just about to pick up the glass and it sold out. Oh well. Probably for the best anyways even though it’s a nice looking rod at unbeatable price
  21. Bama is nice… I’m dreaming of giant Texan bass. Did y’all think about Whataburger?
  22. Made something different again. This one has no name. Just something someone came up with on the inter webs. Skin chicken thighs and veggies combined with gochujang, soy sauce, and other spices. The chicken I marinated for around 5hr, that was my own thing, not the recipes. I also doubled the amount of sauce. Came out a lot different than I expected. Not spicy at all but you get subtle flavors of soy, salt, gochujang, and sesame on top of natural flavors of the veggies. Chicken cooked nicely. Radishes and green parts of green onions cold while rest hot. Sweet potatoes are in there. Everythibn that was cooked cooked together in a sheet pan. Mandu (Korean Dumplings) served with and unfortauntely they are a little black on some sides. Not bad though. Really liked the dish and will make again.
  23. One member in particular as I recall! Starts with Tennessee and ends with river. You were right, smiling with the fish is better. My smile crinkles up my whole face but better to appear as happy as I am to be catching something. No need to mean mug
  24. Just a 2.7lber on a small Nichols single colorado spinnerbait today. I was fishing on a point and a pod of baitfish rose to the surface where I could see em and threw my spinnerbait in the middle of the pod. Let it helicopter down, couple handle turns, fish on. Nothing special but I keep learning more and more about this lake and happy to be fishing of course
  25. Ya really gotta work to pull something out of him sometimes. But I respect @Deleted account’s opinion on various topics so I’ll put in a little extra to try and coax something out of him.
