  1. Bitsy flip, hack attack jig, rage menace, rage craw, rage bug, and red eyed Shad are some of my favorites from strike king. 2022 was an off year for the red eyed shad for me for some reason though and lipless in general. Hope next year is better
  2. Fishing goal: get better at structure fishing and fishing timber. I believe structure fishing was my goal last year too. Lure want to focus on next year: jig. I think last year it was Texas rig and I definitely fulfilled that this year. Fished it a lot. Activity of focus for next year: reading more. Want to start simple. Maybe a book every two months. General goal: Want to be able to clearly articulate my principles and philosophy on life and leadership. And review these often
  3. Hey y’all, Do some bass and crappie have a tendency to occupy the same places in the winter? Or do they have a tendency to occupy different areas? If you found an area in the winter where there was a mother load of crappie, would that make you more or less apt to investigate it for bass? Bait found in nearby channel and a little off dropoff
  4. How did you determine that it was the split rings failing? You are scaring me.
  5. Dang that looks so good man. Well done. I am making that gochujang chicken and veggies recipe again tonight for family. Right before it went in oven just now:
  6. Hey y’all, Wondering how much you talk about fishing in your daily life, especially at work/school/whatever. I used to talk more about it, but came to realize that most people just really don’t care. I hardly mention it anymore, but it often gets brought up to me, because inevitably someone sees my stickered up truck or heard from somebody that I fish a lot. I prefer it that way. Much better to be approached about it rather than just bringing it up, at least to me. What about y’all?
  7. Sorry to hear. Nicer weather on the way!
  8. Not really yet actually. A little bit of willow. Saturday. It will be rainy and cloudy. Plan on going out in a rain suit. A big thumper spinnerbait will dominate that day
  9. Prefer pullover I have a Nichols one that is probably my favorite. Just says FISH on the front with some arm logos. Kinda cheesy but the fish don’t seem to care. I don’t tend to wear it in public.
  10. My expression “what’s good?” is simply asking “what’s up?”. I just want to know how the bassresource community is doing today
  11. But you didn’t answer how you’re doing. I’m just dying to know
  12. Hey y’all, Getting oil changed. What’s good? How y’all doing today?
  13. I sure hope that warm weather gets things going. My last session on Harris was a little disappointing. Nuthin. I see the bass, but I cannot catch them. Saw good amount of bait too. Whatever. I’ll wait em out
  14. Awesome! I’m going to go out on a limb and say next year is going to be the year for you. This one already was. But next year, man, next year’s gonna be good.
  15. I choose to fish somewhere if it has a propensity to hold big bass. I’ve stopped caring about fishing pressure or size of the lake. To me, the larger the lake and the more fishing pressure, the more I tend to learn anyways. I’ve been skunked so many times I don’t care about it.
  16. If for some reason you have too many of those worms, I will absolutely buy some. I love black worms
  17. I think that was my mistake in the spring. Not fishing the lizard enough. I could run down the bank and catch some, and nice ones, burning a swim jig, but I should have picked places apart with the lizard too
  18. No, that financially makes too much sense. The best way to go about this is to let your unused plastics accumulate into a mound. They didn’t perform, so now they have to permanently sit on the bench. Besides, how else are you going to be like every other bass fisherman that has more plastics than he/she could ever use in ten lifetimes?
  19. I agree with you sir that braided line, if you can get away with it, is perfect for the C-rig because it lets you feel the bottom better and helps eliminate some stretch for better hook penetration. Helps with a long leader. However, if you are fishing in an area with a really rocky bottom, I feel that braid can get cut up easily by the sharp edges of rocks and you can potentially get broken off.
  20. I hate that dang rig. It catches em, but I feel like I can also catch em on a swing head or t-rig. But to answer the question, I’m with the crowd that’s says to tie the knots fresh and use a free sliding weight, brass and glass combo.
  21. Absolutely well said. I think the trick is figuring out how to not compromise your beliefs, things most important to you when dealing with many people. Another trick is figuring out how to lead people to better their lives. Sometimes that means giving them the hard truths. How to be able to tell them that while still preserving the relationship you have can be tricky, especially if you have not known each other long. And what is worth telling them this truth? When do you try and lead them and when do you think to yourself, “chill, this is no big deal”. Dealing with people is an art
  22. Yes!! Gambler soft baits are fantastic for thick veggies. Thick bodies that hold a flipping hook well
  23. Pics or didn’t happen ?
  24. And that’s why no one will remember your name… By the way, it’s not hacking apart. It’s just changing a blade. The blade will be okay, I promise
  25. I’m not sure how I feel about the blade combination or head design yet, but everything else on the SV-3 is just top notch. Really impressively built, everything from the hook size and thickness to the blade spacing
