You Already Know
Hey y’all, You already know what time it is. Time to rig up for a weekend of winter fishing. Thinking maybe small jerkbait, small spinnerbait, shaky head, lipless, and a jig maybe. I’m bank fishing. If I get one, Im happy. If I don’t, Im happy and I can say the water’s too cold. I love winter fishing

Surviving winter...
The last winter I spent in NY, I got through it by listening to lots of heavy metal, lifting quite a lot, and staying busy. I was a little more aggressive during that period of time, lol. Was a relief when I could finally fish again, and I fished hard

Crankbait Order Finally
Sweet deal. I posted up a small purchase of some rapala cranks on the bait monkey thread short while back. Don't like cranks generally and hate trebles but like you, excited to throw them. Let us know how they work for you!

JDM Spinnerbaits
I’m fixing to toss a spinner this weekend. Can’t wait. For two days in a row there will be 15mph winds but I will be from bank so not too bad. Winds will be nice for some power fishing, I hope. I expect the water to be really cold though Think Im Going to mix it up and toss a double Indiana. Haven’t really ever used them in the winter

Cologne
Holy moly! You’ve been afflicted by the fragrance monkey! That collection is awesome, thanks for sharing. I don’t really recognize much besides the Tom Ford’s on your right. Since you shared, figured I would post up mine too. I don’t know what I did with the Prada Black box. Wish I still had it

Improved Clinch , Trilene or Uni Knot ?
Double improved clinch knot is one of the strongest that I’ve used. Only knot that seems to outlast my FG knot, when used. That’s on spinning gear nowadays

Cologne
What else do you have? Just curious. I am pretty much settled, don’t think I will buy anything new but nice to hear what somebody else has

Cologne
Coincidentally Dolce Gabbana Light Blue is one of the several I own too! Mine is the intense version. Like it a lot; I will break it out in the summer

Cologne
I respect and acknowledge that. I work to not overspray. Someone suddenly discovering scent is better than loudly announcing it. But, at the end of the day, cologne is meant to be smelled, even if only discovered. Some like smelling me, some probably not. And I’m okay with that.

Cologne
Hey y’all, Who here likes to wear cologne and what do you like? When I consider some of the demographic of bassresource, we have a lot of married folks older than I, and a good amount retired folks. Myself, I am single and young. So I don’t know how much response this thread will get but I had to ask. One of my roommates here is pretty heavily interested into fragrances so after several months of me not really caring about fragrances, eventually a group of us were wandering around in Nashville and my roommate wanted to get me into cologne so asked me to try one from a Sephora. Well I got a sampler pack and found that I really liked wearing them so I just started to. Just like to smell nice. Im very clean and always have been but cologne kinda adds a little sumthin sumthin. Anyways, I own several now and my favorite is probably Prada Luna Rossa Ocean. What about you?

Working to Stay Lean ~
Yup, I sometimes have to reflect on the couple months I had of constant pain and low functionality to realize how blessed I am now to be doing something. My shoulder is far from perfect but I can at least lift without feeling like I’ve done something wrong. About the front knee on BSS… yeah… I’ve felt it before. Particularly after a hard leg day. That exercise used to be my finisher after lots of squats. Never had a problem with it and I’ve always had great knees (please Lord let that continue) but I definitely have felt it stressed after a workout. I should do some thinking on that and whether I should continue to do them. Thanks for the comment on how the two exercises interact with each other. I don’t have any more questions at the moment but those two were right off the top of my head ready for you. Thanks for your help! And yeah… I ain’t doing front squats any time soon ?

Working to Stay Lean ~
Really helpful, thank you how do you think the SBL interacts with Bulgarian split squats in the same workout session? Does performing one make the other redundant? Or are they complementary? When performing the Bulgarian split squats, I seem to feel it more in my hamstrings, and the BSS is one of my favorite leg exercises. But want to hear how you think these two exercise interplay with each other.

Working to Stay Lean ~
A-Jay, can you explain the idea behind holding the off-arm behind your head for your first movement? I just tried that exercise out, was looking for another dumbbell leg exercise. That thing is a quad burner

Hey Catt
There’s a couple differences, sure, but the brush craw cut down looks like it’d be decently close! Alright, though, no problem. I’ll just tag you on bass I catch with the brush craw ?
-
Hey Catt
Hey @Catt You like the Gene Larew 6” Salty Hawg Craw right? Things like that are hard to find right now right? And your stock is getting low? I may have devised a solution for you. Zoom just came out with a Brush Craw. Brush hog with claws instead of the ribbon tails. If you cut off all appendages except for the claws, you have a 5.5” standard craw worm. Or leave the appendages on. It’s your canvas. Looks like a great bait. I will be buying some to try this year

Improved Clinch , Trilene or Uni Knot ?
Never tried a uni, but agree with having problems with the other two. I do not like an improved clinch knot with fluoro and I’ve had some weird problems with the trilene. Phantom slipping, even when I read up on it and took measures to try and prevent it. It’s just not for me

Improved Clinch , Trilene or Uni Knot ?
Palomar I will tie an improved clinch if in a hurry or if my lure has lots of trebles. The palomar was hard for me to learn for some reason but I’ve gotten better. The upside is I have an awfully hard time breaking off while using it on trilene big game

JDM Spinnerbaits
$25 that’s an awful lot for a spinnerbait. Hard to justify that price. On the topic of JDM spinnerbaits, the SV-3 spinnerbaits I received are priced at $13 and similar to what you say, are the highest quality spinnerbaits component-wise that I’ve seen. Beats even Nichols. $13 is still really pricey and still hard to justify when there are $9 spinnerbaits that perform phenomenally but at least with the Megabass, I felt that a buyer was being compensated quite a bit. Let us know how those Deps spinnerbaits catch for you but I probably won’t ever buy one. That price is too steep for me

The bait monkey is with me this evening- The latest sale thread
Have the Tatula 100 and have small hands. One thing I’ll say about the tatula 100 is… depending on your rod grip, the reel may actually feel too small. It may feel like your hand is crushing the reel and your hand can get a cramping sensation as a result. If I use the Tatula 100 on a couple of my rods, I will get that sensation after a while. My Tatula 100 is currently mounted on my iRod 704C (jig rod) where it will permanently stay. Prior to putting the Tatula on that rod, I wasn’t sure what to do since my other reels were not comfortable on it. As it so happens, the Tatula and the iRod turned out to be a match made in heaven. Very comfortable for extended periods of time. So, if you get one, I recommend feeling it out on the rod you intend to put it on. Otherwise, so long as I keep the tension dial set to the zero adjustment, the reel performs well and is a really long caster. Decent amount of line capacity too for being a small reel. I recommend it- Drain on Lake
Sure is ? Donated an awful lot of jigs to the water bank fishing a reservoir in NY. I had to tolerate it because bluegill colored jigs were often the best thing to throw on that reservoir- Drain on Lake
Bank fishing that lake- Drain on Lake
Hey y’all, More questions for today. One of the lakes here has a drain off the bank in some deep water. Roughly the deepest in the lake. It’s a covered drain where water flows into with some concrete walls going down. The drain is situated on the dam of the lake. When I first started fishing this lake, it was November or December sometime, can’t really remember. But I was most attracted to the dam right off the bat and spent most of my time there. For all that time, I only caught one dink. For all the cover and deep water there, including rocks, some light submerged vegetation, and steep drop off from the bank, I really thought it was going to be productive, especially as the water cooled and the fish could go down into the deep water as needed or up to the rocks in some bright sunshine and warm temps. However, I saw more activity in other parts of the lake and observed people catching mostly away from the dam. So then I started questioning that drain and its influence on the lake. Does the drain create some current? How does it affect small (2-4in) baitfish? Does it cool the water down? Why do you think this area was not producing for me? - Speed Craw on a Shaky Head
